Question:

What do you think of drafting LT 1 overall and trading him for a good QB (brady or manning) and a good RB/WR?

I think I can get more for him overall than keeping him. I wouldn't have to worry about QB and WR in the draft and can focus on 2WR and 1RB? Ideas?

  1. it would depend on the WR you got out of the trade.

If i were you try to work sometihng out before hand.

  2. Not worth it. The difference between LT/AP and all other RB's are huge. You would probably need 3 RB's in trade to equal the quality of LT/AP. Or, to put it another way, if LT/AP had ADP 1, the next best RB should have ADP 3. Also, if you are drafting out of the 1-2 spot, most likely your next RB will be Jamal Lewis or worse. The top tier RB's this year are so far ahead of the rest of the field that it's ridiculous.

That being said, no trade should be ignored. If you can get a first round RB like Addai or Portis and Brady, that would offset the loss you take from losing LT.

  3. Whats up Monster,

I think you'd be crazy to trade away the chance to land LT for a QB/WR.  QB/RB could be a viable option ONLY if you were able to land Brady and a top 10 RB.  The reason I'm removing Manning from the equation is that, in terms of fantasy point output, he wasn't even as productive as Romo or Roethlisberger in 2007.  If you're going to trade the most consistent stud RB over the last few years, you need to at least land the #1 QB in the league, and that guy is Brady.

Now, assuming that you're able to get Brady, you really need another good RB to make the trade worthwhile.  Obviously you're not going to get Brady AND a top 5 RB, but if you could get a RB in the top 10 I think the trade may be plausible.  I would consider any RB the top 10:

    Peterson

    Westbrook

    Addai

    Gore

    Portis

    Barber

    S. Jackson

    Grant

    J. Lewis
