What do you think of employment agencies ?

i have joined one agency and am trying to join another

one of the agencies rang me up today and had obviously not read my CV as she didn't have a clue what my experience or qualifications are

am i wasting my time ?

Agencies use people in my experience ,I am sorry to sound negative ,but for me it was an unpleasant experience.I hope your Agent is better and I wish you good luck in all your endeavours.Be aware of their attitude and do not allow them to use you for their own ends.

I haven't had any personal experience but have friends who have and have gone on to succeed in jobs they love. I would say its like most services these days where incompetence seems to be accepted and never challenged. Put it down to many things but don't give up and keep all your options open and don't be afraid to challenge their incompetence, as they are being paid to provide a supposedly adequate service and word of mouth travels fast. i have dealt with them and i would never do it again.

if you can, find a job without these stupid agencies. they will find you a job, but it will be with no benefits and in my experience, they lie just to get someone to take the job. you could end up working next to a person, doing the same job, but they are getting twice as much money as you. just beware and be careful.

not much ==  the best way to find a job is to net work -- tell everyone you know family friends bar mates that you are looking for a job and ask if they know of any openings!!!
