I think it's all a bit silly and very childish. Silly little icons with everyone talking rubbish about themselves. What do you think?

Whatever happened to writing a letter or speaking on the telephone and having good relationships with people.

  1. Facebook is great, for the teens and 20-30's great way of organising, for instance i was organising a group of 30 people to go to a theme park, everyone just checked on the facebook for updates and information about the event, and you can say if you were going to the event or not. Its also a great way of keeping in contact with people that you haven't spoke to for a h**l of a long time. I'm keeping in contact with my old school friends and my relatives from Australia and i can view pictures of my cousin on her first day at school.

I can see you point about the silly icons, but if you look deeper than that facebook can be a great resource for socialising.

I still ring my close friends and have a good relationship with them

  2. No offense, but you're showing your age. In the digital age, it's perfectly acceptable and normal to maintain online relationships with people. Plus, Facebook is a good way to organize events and keep people updated on what you're doing.

This generation is constantly connected. Facebook is just one example of that. You may find it silly, but that's just the direction in which society is going.

  3. its ok but it annoys me how people love to poke/ throw sheep at etc. at me, Its not even real or in the least bit funny. Also  when I comment one of my friends, it has to tell whoever it wants what Ive said, I get that comments aren't private but it still pisses me off that what I say has to be made into an announcement. Being tagged in a series of bad pictures isn't much fun either. I wouldn't get rid of it though, surprisingly!

  4. facebook is a good social network site..............good for keeping up with friends and finding friends also............i personally think it is the best thing that has happened since the beginning of social networking site............

there is always something 4 everyone

  5. I think its c**p but then thats just because everyone I know is on bebo!

  6. I really don’t know why people got so involved in FaceBook in the first place? It’s like a bunch of toys given to some children in the room who keep on swapping and playing around with them with eachother. FaceBook has a bunch of plugins that people can install and use them to swap objects of SPAM around.

There are no discussions at all. Discussion level is close to nothing on FaceBook. What’s the point of revolving a hundred thousand flash objects over the Internet for no real reason at all? Am I missing something here?

People should get better tastes in my opinion. But I have to use it to keep up with my friends because they use it.

  7. my sister went on there and got our aunties account

  8. never bin on it!

  9. i know what you mean! i had a facebook for a week and then deleted it! lol its boring, and everyone you dont like seems to find you on it and add you... i think myspace is better ^-^

  10. I think its each to their own preference!!

To be able to talk on the phone to someone - you need to meet them first!

There are many many people who use the internet, and sites like Facebook, who rely on it for their social input.

People who are housebound, for whatever reason, (and there are thousands and thousands of people in this situation) will enjoy the interaction and socializing that these sites provide.

There is a lot of sillyness, lighthearted frivolousness and insincerity on Facebook but also I know of people who have met their current partners. And are blissfully happy.

  11. Facebook is continually developing, eventually i should imagine it will contain something for everyone.

  12. Facebook is GREAT!

  13. I like posting funny pix and vids on it to make all of my "friends" laugh! It's so much more convenient than spending 40+ cents and what gas it takes to send a letter from the post office!

  14. i think its boaring, people put pictures up to show off their looks and aren't even interested in dating its just stupid.my mum wanted to date someone on there and we sent him a picture of my mum and it was of when she was at a party and he said "you look very pretty but your very formal i only like casual girls" what does he expect you to wear at someones graduation party- jeans!! for god sake you cant expect to go on facebook and find someone with all the key points that you want a girl to have i mean we cant change ourselves for you men. we are what we are. so obviously i think of facebook as the worst dating, friendship and chat website. :(

  15. I think its a bit childish as well, also not exactly user friendly. My friend, who has just got a computer, has her emails through there (set up by her son) so when I email her it is directed there, and she keeps sending me silly thinks like drinks etc. and the games are pretty pathetic or don't work at all. So all in all, I reckon it is really naff!

  16. well everyone has there own opinion of facebook, personally i love it cos i get to chat to friends and family all over the world without the expense of a phone call or the time it takes for mail to arrive.

i have made some very good friends on there and not everyone writes rubbish about themselves (maybe they are so boring they have to make things up) and i often have great nights out with mates off there

  17. I still talk on the phone, a rather lot too, and I still go on facebook.
