  1. there are women fighters in boxing ali's daughter and there also in mma now i've seen both they are just as entertaining has any other fights.  some of those women can take some punishment

  2. do you want to beat me or what?

  3. As a former collegiate boxer myself, I personally don't like it. Why, well there are a few reasons. But it's like women basketball to me, unless they are going to compete at the same level as the men in the sport why would I want to waste my time watching less skilled athletes over pro men. With that said, if there was a women who was out there KO'ing the best males in her weight class I'd be 100% behind her. h**l I'd probably like her more than a male with the same record. It would be different and exciting.

Another reason, is I like to look at women in a different light then men. And that light is less macho, less testosterone, etc. Thing that you associate with fighting. So, I by no mean want to be the one to not allow them to fight, box, etc. but just can't say I particularly like it.

  4. I think it's fine, I don't see how it would be wrong... perhaps it's a violent sport, but it's good money and it demonstrates that women are strong and capable of defending themselves.

I have never boxed but I've fought, especially in pit exercises in the Army, and I was always very good at it. I like hand to hand combat a lot more than using weapons, and I think EVERY woman should know how to fight, should know how to punch hard enough to make someone sick, should know at least 5 points on the human body that they could strike to paralyze or immobilize their opponent. Not just for physical safety, but so you never feel intimidated in the presence of someone that you assume is stronger, larger or violent towards you.

I do feel that some female boxers, especially those just getting into it, have money as the primary motivator, and they put themselves through h**l to make it. They can get exploited by their managers and it's very hard to make it "big", it's a very frustrating thing to be. Most people that like to box or fight actually have normal second jobs that they lead full time because it's a one in a million chance to become as well known as Laila Ali, for example (and she has her dad's coattails to coast into the ring on, depite how good of a fighter she is herself - it's just the simple truth that her father gives her a good advantage).

I think that all women should learn MORE THAN self defense, which insinuates that women are weaker and prone to attack and that they should just know how to defend. You need to learn offense, you need to learn to fight back, because you can wriggle and struggle and try to run from rapists and freaks all you want, but when you're in a bind nothing will do like a blow to the solar plexus with an open palm (which can kill, if done properly).

Just my two cents. It's an empowerment issue. I am one of those people that is obsessed with power and domination when it comes to physical ability and I work out a lot and I have gotten into fights easily. It's like I have a really dark inner side or something, haha.

  5. thats great..........
