  1. i think it's great, and good luck!  different people need different timing in their life.  i am glad you waited, and are older, more mature, and hopefully set in a career and financially stable.  that is a wise decision.  i wouldn't worry about being only 38 and pregnant.  my mother had me at 36.  i think the most problems occur over 40.

over 35 you may have a harder time because your egg count is significantly decreased, but there is always help.  if you are over 35 you should see your doctor for help as soon as you think you may need it.  they will help you with conception sooner than say a 25 year old trying to conceive.

  2. I got my first healthy baby when I was 40 years old, surprisingly as it was so easy (within 1 month) and natural. Did nothing about BBT and OPK at all that time. I am now 41 years old and just started TTC with the second one. ( I am 5'2 and 105 lbs). I don't think that I would be as lucky as I did for the first time, so I strated to do more research and collecting info about BBT and OPK. Hope this help.

  3. I am 23 weeks pregnant with my first, and I am 38.  We had no problem getting pregnant, and so far my pregnancy has been uneventful.  I am a third generation 38 year old mother as my mother was 38 when she had me and my grandmother was 38 when she had my mother.  We have all been healthy, as I hope my son will be.  I think there are a lot of advantages to being a little older and I am looking forward to motherhood.  I say go for it!

  4. I'm in the same situation and think it's great!  Have you talked with your doctor about the painful periods?  I would also recommend taking your BBT and looking into an ovulation kit although they are expensive.   This way you have documentation for the doctor.  I have been charting my BBT for a few months but I'm not consistent on the time which I have just found out is pretty important to keep it all consistent.

    Good Luck!

  5. The chances of you getting pregnant are great. The chances of you having a child without complications are a little shaky. You have to understand that once a womans body passes a certain age, she becomes high risk.

However, I don't have a problem with it. If your parts are still working and you want kids- Go for it. :)

  6. My daughter just had a baby at the age of 41

  7. I don't see a big deal. people in my family waited and it makes it easier for you. You are more responsible and mature.
