There is a debate going on in our household.

My brother; the one graduating; says he only wants immediate family.

My dad says just give him the money and be done.

My mom and I think a graduation party is very important and you should have family friends and people close to you; family; neighbors and that kind of thing to celebrate because it is basically a milestone in your life! We were thinking around 100 - 150 people for the party. We have a big yard and tons of things to do but we are really upset he doesn't want a party.

What is your opinion on this?

Do you think a graduation is important?

Why/Why not?

  1. I think it is his decision. I did the same thing; when I graduated from high school, I said no party. My older sister did have a graduation party, but I didn't want one. We went out to dinner with just my closest family. I think graduation is important, but it belongs to your brother and you should respect his wishes.

  2. It is all about your brother and his accomplishment. Ask him again to write down who he all wants at his party. If you do invite other people that aren't on his list, keep it to a minimum.

I think that celebrating his big day is important because of all the work from him and your parents getting him to that day!
