What do you think of McCain's choice as choosing a woman for vice pres? Well I think he's just throwing a no namer out there because it's like telling the people ok so some of you wanted a woman as pres right? how about a vice pres?

  1. It think it's a pathetic and desperate attempt to garner votes from women and the semi liberal community.  Hopefully people will see through his ruse.  That man cares nothing about rights for women...and really, even as a woman herself, neither does she.

  2. I think it is an interesting choice on so many levels. Speculation is that the choice is to draw the Hillary backers...but I think it could very well backfire with the Fundies. We'll have to wait until November to see what happens. (I'm still surprised at Obama's VP choice....)

  3. I still need to learn more about her before I can decide on what I think of her. I'm still very surprised it wasn't Mitt Romney.

    L

  4. Also she is 30 years younger than him

  5. Personally, it's more about the politics and the vision involved in the candidates, rather than what s*x they are. She is a conservative republican. . . I really don't like that. So woman or not, I probably wont endorse him just because he chose a woman as his VP. I'd like to see a woman in office, nevertheless, she has to have a vision that lines up close to my personal beliefs and morals, and what I believe will better the country (especially now).

  6. I think it was a strategy to gain female votes.

  7. I almost fell of my desk chair when I read about this earlier.  McCain is not even in favor of women getting equal pay.  If he was put in the White House do you think he would force congress' hand to lower her slalary?  He is a misogynist of the worse kind.   This is just a ploy to woo voters.

  8. My mom says she is big on unions, that is good for my dad who is into workers unions, it helps our family. Even though I prefer Obama, at least I know that we will be able to keep our unions if Obama does not get it.

  9. I am surprised.

Her only experience is being a city councilperson and mayor of a city with a population of less than 10,000 and being a governor since Dec. 2006.

It appears that McCain was not looking for a good candidate that happened to be a woman, but only a woman candidate.

A much better choice would have been either Olympia Snowe or Susan Collins, both Senators from Maine that have more centrists views.

  10. I absolutely think that his choice is brilliant, given her background, her job as Governor and her family. It's high time this country moved beyond the boundaries of gender and race when it comes to our leadership. McCain obviously looked at a lot of good people and chose a person of substance. Good for him.

  11. It is a political move if nothing else. Her record is great and she would be a boost for women voters, but McCain is trying to pull a rabbit out of a hat. Time will tell if he made this move for the right reasons, or if it is just a ploy to get voters "sympathy" that he really cares.

  12. I think it's more like "wow he chose woman as vice president he's so open minded" etc...
