I don't think he is a Kyle Petty. But I do believe that if his last name was smith or jones he would be a decent driver. Not anywhere close to the popliarity. But because his dad died helping him & his teamate win the biggest race out there. He's loved...

It also helps that he doesn't have 3 heads & me can carry a conversation when asked.

he isnt that bad but he isnt great. he is NOT his father and never will be so people need to get over it. he needs to get more agressive to ever win the cup. but he has good sponsers so he will always be one of the most popular drivers in nascar.

well, considering the season he having this year, i would think he's pretty d**n good. i know he hasn't won yet, but he has consistently finished in the top 10 all year, and should have a pretty good shot in the shootout at the end of the season, I met him in 2000 at texas motor speedway, and he really seemed down to earth, and wasn't hung up on himself. of course that was his rookie year in winston cup so maybe he's changed.

He's a popular driver with a famous last name & 3rd in the points & still hasn't won a race in 73 races & hasn't won a championship either, but to many, somehow some feel he is still one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR & that has me puzzled.

To be honest with you, I think he's a guy that's put too much pressure on himself, and it's starting to show, on his face, in his voice, in his demeanor..

I'm not a fan, but I don't dislike him..

Simply put, he is the face of Nascar much like his father was, although he's probably not totally comfortable with that.

He is humble, determined and driven. He will be a multi-time champion of the Sprint Cup Series, I'd bet the ranch on it.

The Kyle Petty comparisons always make me chuckle.

Just like his father more lucky than skilled.How can you call a driver with seven cup wins and a record of being the seventh winningest driver anything but lucky.Jr's luck comes from his Dad's luck and like his Dad isn't a great driver.I don't believe SR was a bad person but I don't believe he should be revered anywhere near as highly as he is.

I think he is a very good person, clean racer and all around good guy.  When NASCAR was in Fontana my Aunt and Uncle went to the March race and Jr. took a picture with my uncle who is a huge Jr. fan and he hung out.  Thats pretty cool.
