Immigration authorities have targeted seven Burger King restaurants in New Castle County for routinely hiring undocumented workers, according to a federal search warrant unsealed this week.Twenty-seven unauthorized workers, 26 from Mexico and one from El Salvador, were arrested Aug. 13, Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman Mike Gilhooly said. Seven men and seven women were detained, while 13 women were released for humanitarian reasons, such as being the sole caregiver for a relative, or health reasons. None of those arrested had a prior criminal record and only one had previously been deported, Gilhooly said, adding no other details about those arrested was available.

A total of 78 employees -- between eight and 18 per location -- suspected of illegally working at the restaurants were identified in the search warrant filed in U.S. District Court in Wilmington. The investigation is ongoing, Gilhooly said.http://www.delawareonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080830/NEWS/808300349

  1. Too little, too late...must be an election year.

  2. i think its excellent. get these mehaws outta our country

  3. Hear me out before you thumbs down me!

I feel really sorry for those arrested.  They came to America seeking a better life.  Not much different from you and I seeking a better...job, school for our kids, etc.

I want justice but I want it in the form of fairness and practicality.  14+million people aren't going to go away, we cannot afford to try to round them up and ship them off.

Give Illegal Immigrants a work visa and five years to learn english, but only if they have a clean record.  If they pass an immigration test, then put them at the back of the line for citizenship.

Got a record beyond a misdemeanor??? Your *** going back to where you came!!  If you come back after that...

  4. Great!

    Super!

  5. Its a good start.

  6. I think we just had it our way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    roflmao

  7. All the raids do is push illegals to sanctuary states like California.

  8. i think than those undocumented were feeding thousands and i think the costumers will think it is ridiculous the amount of money being wasted deporting people who they probably saw as very hard working individuals . i think they will be mad and i think than there will be people applying for those jobs but they will not last very long , i often see hiring sings in those places all the time , i see anglos applying for those jobs and leaving the next day to not comeback , sad but truth .

EDIT : i agree with all Alan said .

  9. How many were using stolen SS#s.  Don't people understand that this is a crime?  This is identity theft.  To the dungeon with them all.

  10. According to court papers, a December review of a sample of work papers on file for employees at the franchise revealed 64 percent of the forms had alien registration numbers that had expired, didn't match the employees' names or never were issued by ICE. Because of the unusually high percentage, more of the franchise's employee forms were checked and more problems were discovered.Yes I guess this part doesn't matter what's a little wink and nod on companies who engage in fraud and deception and then  advocates cry foul when the law catches up with them. Americans were doing these jobs before most of these illegals were ever born. If the customers are angry and upset over document fraud, messing up their meal, you know what, toooooooo bad, they will get over it.

  11. I think it's great and hope we keep seeing these raids, it truly gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.

    Lmao @ DM ,nice one!

  12. I think its good.  I wish they would check the McDonald's in my area.  They always get the order wrong.  The girl taking the order in the drive through can't even speak english to say your total.  It took four people to find one person that could speak a little broken English to fix the order.  Its horrible.  I hope they send them all back or they stay quarantined to California.  They have destroyed that state.

  13. Its about time we,don't have peanut or slick willie running things and kissing the worlds ***

  14. I want to LMFAO everytime I hear of a Raid. and then right afterwards hear how all these Americans were standing in line to get those jobs (but we know that Americans didn't want those jobs that's why illegals were working them LOL). I now say I bet the people in New Castle County Can actually go in and place an order and the order will be correct because American workers usually understand what 'hold the mayo" means.

  15. Alan, most people do not break the law to get a better life. Do not compare illegal immigrants with most people in the US who do not break the law to attain a better life.  Criminals break laws to get a better life, not most people.

Rewarding illegal by letting them stay is not the right message. That tells people that you can pick and choose what laws you want to obey just because you don't agree with that law. No thanks.

  16. i think they should give them a chance to get legal and if they don't want to do it. say good by.
