Male or female they are leaders and Marines. They deserve respect. They should be leaders, who lead by example and show they work just as hard and are just as dedicated to the mission as the enlisted person.

They are great for the country they serve and h**l on they women they are with.

The very things that make a great soldier, make men completely asinine in relationships.  

But if you love him, and he loves you, then you do what you gotta do.  What happened? The marine found out you were heading back to Thailand and now he is doing everything in his power to convince you stay because he is afraid of losing you?

Rank does not make the person..... Respect is earned not awarded with the rank..... There are EXCELLENT  Marine Lieutenants and there are $hitbirds.....

When you get your commission.... do not get too full of yourself.... there is nothing wrong with listening to the advise of subordinates..... but when YOU make the final decision.....it is yours not theirs

Take responsibility for your actions ( or inactions)..... give others credit when possible..... If you get a pat on the back.....give the gunny credit for his support..... As a company commander I often asked the 1SGT or CSM for advice......even when I knew the answer.....

Congress gave you your commission..... but it is your troops that will give you your career..... MISSION first.....TROOPS second....YOU come last
