At the moment....I'm actually impressed he's not being a big media w***e like other quasi celebuparents that come out of the woodworks after a child they've barely seen becomes famous.

It's unfortunate he hasn't had much of a relationship with his son no matter if Micheal was working at a burger king or an Olympic champion.

I have no idea - all I have seen of his parents is his mother on television.  In interviews I got the impression that his dad was not involved in his life.  This is just an impression, however, and I would like to think that whoever and wherever he is, he is proud of his son.

I don't know him.  Michaels mother raised him so he is obviously very close to her.  Most divorce dads don't spend much time with their kids unless they have to, so it would not be unusual that Michael Phelp's dad is not at  the Olympics.

I think Michael Phelps's dad is a good father. Even though he made a divorce with his mother 14 years ago, he must be a great father. Maybe you can learn more about his personality somehow at this site below...
