What do you think of my France itinerary?

Paris 4 days (Louvre, Latin Quarter, Arc de Triomphe, Marais, Montmartre...)

Normandy 3 Days (Mont St Michel, Caen, Bayeux)

Strasbourg 2 Days

Anything else you'd like to suggest?

I won't go to Nice, it's not really worth it, is it? Cause I'll be heading to Barcelona after France. Nor to Versaille, sounds boring.

  1. Paris and Normandie OK, but I don't understand Strasbourg...

You'd better follow the french west coast from Rennes to Biarritz before going to Spain. All the French west coast is wonderful.

  2. Annecy(for the beauty) in the french alps is worth the trip!!! Spend 3 days in Paris, 2 days in Normandy...I stayed in Bayeux and its great. Ok skip Strasbourg since it is out of the way...but hey Annecy is going in the wrong direction too and I still would go...Mont St Michael is fantastic..sounds like you got it!!!

  3. I would definately recomend going to versaille! It is incredible. Also, I recomend if going to the Mont St. Michel to go at night and if possible, stay at la mere poulard. It is AMAZING at night. You might want to stop and see a few castles like the Chambourd.

  4. The first time I was in France I spent almost 2 weeks in Paris, then we took a three day sidetrip which included Orleans, Autun,

Besancon, and Strasbourg.  Last Summer I spent a day in Paris and a few days in Normandy.

First of all Normandy was well worth it if you have any interest  in history.  Caen was actually a pretty nice city, but Bayeux is really sleepy, so if you like some nightlife I would stay there one night at most.  The tapestry is certainly well worth seeing, but a day trip from Caen might be the best idea.

Strasbourg is cool, but might be a bit far depending on how you get there.  When I visited, I had never been to Germany, so it was great seeing the German-style architecture of the Strasbourg cathedral, and enjoying some German pastries at a local bakery was really a highlight.

That having been said, checking out the the Orleans and the Loire Valley with its many chateaus could be a better option for you.  Doing Normandy is three days is a bit of a rush, and I know that when I went we had three days to do strasbourg and the loire valley and that seemed like a rush, so you might be stretching yourself to thin.

Another respondent suggested Annecy, which I have heard great things about but it also seems to be a bit of a schlep, so I think the Loire valley may be just the thing.

Either way, I'm sure you'll have an awesome time.

  5. Too much running around for no particularly good reason.

  6. You just miss the point of your trip!!

Strasbourg, nothing special there, unless you meet family or friends.

    Versaille...must do

Nice and the French Riviera, nightlife, must do

And from Nice going to Spain is much closer than Strasbourg

  7. I recommend going down the west coast of France as well. Stop in the Loire Valley see some castles and Biarritz is gorgeous and worth seeing and spending sometime there. And Versaille is not boring. Its really fun to rent bikes and then ride them through the gardens. Its the best way to see the most! You will love Mont St. Michel

  8. Versailles is amazing. You have to rent a bike if you end up going there. I traveled around Europe for almost 2 months, though 5 countries, and I don't know to how many cities, but Versailles was definitely one of my favorite places.

So, not to knock the Stras, but I'd skip that for Versailles...plus like the others said, it is a bit out of the way. But if you do go, be sure to visit Le Petit France area
