  5. IT'S FABULOUS!!!!!!!

  6. it's more like a patio , not a yard, but it's really nice. i like it

  7. cool, but tiny....

  8. Cosy up to the point of a little cramped...?

  9. ADD LIGHTS

  10. the canopy makes it seem very small

  11. where's the yard?

  12. pretty but i don't think the garbages look thats nice by where people might eat

  13. Pretty cool! You can even hang out back there when it rains!

  14. nice setup :)

  15. It's nice, I see that it's tiny, you must live in a Big City!

  16. Woah...I LOVE IT![: But I think the backyard's a lil too small. Unless it didnt fit in the whole picture. And flowers would really lighten it up.[:

  17. Nice whens the barbecue. I'll bring the tater salad.

  18. Good use of space but i wouldnt consider a cement slab a yard

  19. very nice. very secluded. kind of blends in

  20. Very good, need lights though for night-times when you want to chill with mates ect...

  21. It's great for the size that your "yard" is. very tasteful furniture.

  22. I think the furniture is very nice, good choice, but is this a bit crampted. Not very nice eating or relaxing with the rubbish bins at your back. Where is the view, the garden? Beautiful furniture in the wrong setting, pity.

  23. Nice, Peaceful, very good!

  24. I like the potted plants flanking the sliding door to the house, but I think you could use even more greenery here. You're obviously skilled at keeping container plants healthy -- why not add more to soften the lines between the patio and the house? Not more uprights -- those serve a function just the way you've got them, and nothing else needs flanking in that same way -- but maybe something with a bit of drape to it.  I'd like to see more green to offset the unavoidable starkness of a small urban patio. Even a few hanging pots of ivy would help a lot, I think.

I'd also like to see some screening for those rubbish bins.  I understand if you've nowhere else to put them -- I have a small urban lot as well, and there's not much you can do about it if there's simply nowhere else the bins can go; I've exactly the same problem myself -- but perhaps you could set up a simple bamboo screen between them and the table?  I was thinking of a low one, so that you don't have to move it each time you take out the trash, but still high enough to block your view of the plastic a bit.

A small water feature, like a wall fountain, would be very cool to attach to one of those solid walls.  It would mask any street sounds you have to deal with, and moving water not only sounds good, but it makes the air feel fresher as well, which is often particularly appreciated in a small space.

I think the choice of light-colored pavers was very wise.  It lightens up the area and makes it seem larger.

Some day in the future, if you have the money to spare, you might want to consider replacing the free-standing canopy with a wooden pergola.  It would be a bit pricey, but you could grow vines up it and have a really pleasant shaded retreat under there.  I also think it would give you even more space, since the beams would be attached to the house on one side, so you wouldn't have any posts to maneuver around between your table and the wall.

I like the start you've made on transforming such a small space into a pleasant place to sit and relax.

  25. looks cute.... some say small--- we'll just call it cozy......but i am a fan of your green foliage :) that means you are actually taking care of your plants... :)

  26. A bit on the small side, but whatever works for you.  I'd have probably gone with a outside bar or maybe a small table with just 2 or 4 chairs to give a bit more moving room, but have fun with it.

  27. Gorgeous.  But maybe if you lose the gazebo it will open it up more. Check out hgtv.com for some great design tips. Overall its a great spot for the sun.

  28. very nice!

I see you have two bins, i hope one's for recycling!

  29. ummmm....where's the yard?  I wish I could show you mine...it's an acre. Good use of space tho - if that's all you got!!  Get rid of the cabana and put a pergola up that's about 3 or 4 feet highter.  It will feel less cramped.  Then, plant some actually greenery to grow around the pergola posts, then hang a candle lit chandellier or a ceiling fan from the middle.

Soooo...the other pics.  Is that your grandma's house? sorry.  Just didn't think anyone still had phones like that....or lace curtains for that matter.

  30. crowded... who's bedroom was that? frilly curtains and pink pillows???

  31. sorry for being full on but im a gardener and your garden is boring full stop.
