Beautiful! ... Jelly rolls are always good, and that one looks especially scrumptious:)  You could make some meringue mushrooms at Christmas time, and decorate the same thing as a Yule Log.......

That's a great cake for beginner's. Don't know how many cakes you have made, but that was well done for a roll cake.

Hmm . . . it looks very good, chocolate-y, and fun. Are you planning to serve it to him in the future, or have you already celebrated his birthday and it's over and done with? Well, if you are serving in the future, I would, of course, set it with nice settings and plates etc. You could maybe add some strawberries, blueberries, or mint leaves for decoration? A dollop of whip cream on the side might be nice too. Heck, throw on some rose petal while you're at it! But really, the cake does look delicious.
