  1. looks real nice i wish my teacher had one..

  2. I would love to set up my own site like this, but I must admit that I was shocked to read about your high school pregnancy. Working with high school children, don't you feel you should discourage this? You have an entire page dedicated to your teen pregnancy.

When I tell parents and students about myself, I include my family information (yes, being a parent is something to be proud of), my schooling, my values, and my teaching philosophies.

  3. The actual class information you have is great.  It is organized, appealing, and easy to read.  However, the pictures you have on the home page and the "The teacher" page, along with all of the information about your high school pregnancy and birth of your son are completely innappropriate.  You need to be professional.  While a teacher needs to be personal, you have crossed the line by sharing way too much private information.  You come across as glamorizing and bragging about your teenage pregnancy.   It is no one's buisness when you had your son or about the details of your pregnancy.  Many teachers, including myself, share info about their personal lives, but you have shared too much.  All you need to mention is that you have a son.  You could even say how old he is.  But you do not, and absolutely should not, say anything about your teenage pregnancy.   As a teacher and a parent I would be totally turned off by this website for this page alone.  It makes you seem very immature, irresponsible, and unprofessional.   I would suggest replacing the home page picture with something more professional that gives a better idea of who you are as a teacher.  I think the picture you have of you at graduation with your husband and son are fine, but take down all the pictures of you in high school or when you are pregant.

  4. I don't know that I would give out my myspace page. Some parents are really against myspace and might be upset about that. Also- there are a lot of exclamation points and awesomes! I would try to sound a bit more professional. Try to find that balance between young and fun teacher and professional and hard working teacher. Great idea though!

  5. It's well laid out.  I don't understand the picture on the front and why you feel it necessary to tell the students you became pregnant with your son in high school.  This is encouraging other minors to do the same.  As a parent, I'd have a problem with it.

  6. It looks great!  I love how you took the "laid-back" approach to your wording instead of making it stuffy.  I also love that you have fun pictures of yourself and your students.  I think that really helps to "humanize" us as teachers.  Great Job!  I want to make one for my class!

(P.S. I couldnt get the link to your blog to work)
