What do you think of my college schedule?

I'm going to start as a freshman in September! How does it sound--tough, manageable, easy, interesting, etc.?

Reading Poetry: MoWeFri 9:40-10:40 AM

Plant Sciences: Tu 8:30-12:30 PM

College Algebra & Precalculus: MoWeFr 1:10-2:10 PM

Intro to Asian Philosophies: MoWe 3:30-5:00 PM

Do you think 4 classes is too little? Anyone take similar classes and willing to share experiences? And how can I incorporate extracurriculars and volunteer work--I want to volunteer at a local children's hospital. :)

  1. Have you thought what you want to do in your life?  Poetry-Plants-Asian Philosophies : how do these combine to give you skills for a specific field?

  2. At my school they suggested we take 4 unless we thought we could handle 5. I'm taking 5 and i'm excited. Your classes sound good though.

  3. It beats my freshman schedule which featured 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. classes on Saturday.

Your MWF seems a little chopped up with just an hour or so between classes.  That will make it hard to really sit down and study, so try to develop some things you can do (e.g., review flash cards, or read one chapter of a book) in those time slots.  Don't just head for the vending machines and kill the time.  Thursday is your big study day.  I highly recommend that you go to the library on Thursdays and study all day, like it's a job.  That was my secret.

  4. that is probably the easiest schedule i have ever seen.........

  5. Sounds diverse enough. Good CORE classes. Seems manageable but good luck trying to volunteer on MWF days. Id say TR days are the best times or the weekend

If they are 100 or 200 level they should be pretty interesting, but its unique to the college and professor. Poetry would be my favorite, but Im a junior English major haha :)
