To nothingconstant: Precisely! That is exactly what I am referring to. People get the government they deserve. If they demand nothing out of their government or their leaders, then that is exactly what the leaders will give them in return- nothing.

  1. Honestly, we have had nearly 8 years of Bush...and few people have

been able to 'know incompetence when they see it'. Sure, tons or people disagree with him now and some even 'hate' him....but it is a passive hate and disagreement. We are too obsessed with self and with our own personal lives to actually demand more of our government. Save a dictatorship, few if any people will 'rise up' and demand changes. A few may write to their congressmen, a few may protest in the streets, but we need far more than a few to completely overhaul the system. And, frankly, no one cares until they are personally and directly affected by their government. As long as it is happening to someone else, I can block it out and not have to do anything about it. I know that sounds harsh, but that is truly the state of our nation.

  2. Or you could openly mock the corrupt election like I do:

This year I'm voting for Kodos, an allusion to a The Simpson's episode.

  3. You're a nihilist.

Rather pointless, from my point of view.

  4. The big reason I was for Ross Perot when he ran for president, was not because I felt he would make a good president but rather like throwing a wrench into a piece of machinery that wasn't working properly and by throwing a wrench into it - it would then most definitely need fixing.

  5. I think it is a shame that your mom and dad's attempts at birth control failed. I don't think you should be judging  men whose shoes you are not fit to shine. I hope I am the only person to waste time answering this question. I'd better submit the answer before I feel any dumber.

  6. Many Americans are jaded with regards to current politics.

The best thing I can tell you is that people that are fed, sheltered, and appeased rarely strike back.  For a political movement (or social one) people must be deprived of the means to provide for themselves and family.

    Pertaining to rights:

Noam Chomsky said that rights were never given to us.  They are something we have fought for throughout history.  No government has willingly laxed on something.

What we have now is a government that is too bloated to move.  It happens to all established governments and I can't help but wonder if the nature of government is always its demise.  Even if it is started off in the best intentions, will it eventually evolve into c**p?

This country has gone through strange times before.  Remember the robber barons?  That time in our history does not seem too good to me... but as a result we had a worker's revolution and a political one with regards to business.  It's cyclical... the only thing to wonder is if the population is up for it anymore.

    __

I've often thought that I would vote for McCain to intentionally put this country through another 4 (or 8) years of Republican rule.  Dems aren't too much better I know, but I really think people get the government they deserve.

  7. Okay, heres what you do, go to the gas station and fill up a couple gas cans.  Then go to your local post office and burn it down.  You'll probably want to do this just after closing, so that it doesn't look suspicious you being there, but noone else will be there.
