well my birthdays in may, i know, really far away but it's my sweet 16 so i've already started thinking of ideas, definately nothing final yet though.

my best idea so far i think is having it on the beach at night, with big bonfires all around, i'm hoping i can find a beach nearby with like a resteraunt or something that's right on the beach, so we have an inside part as well, where people can dance and there will be a dj, and i'm not sure what food yet, but maybe some non-alchaholic cocktails or something. i want to invite quite a few people, maybe around 60-90 and make it sort of dressy, but still able to wear on the beach.

i live in florida, so i'm pretty much counting on hot weather.

do you like my idea? any suggestions? on decorating, food, other cool ideas, etc..

just give me any suggestions cause i really want to hear them and it'll really help! thankyou!!!

  1. I think it would be awesome to have a black and white party with those light that flash everywhere, this way it can be an amazingg party but getting things wont be rediculously expensive and people have a choice of black and white dresses and tuxes. also what would be cool would be have the girls wear white dresses and the guys black suits. another idea would be have a hollywood theme with a red carpet and stuff, and another idea that is like the black and white is neon, which could definately be on the beach :)

and then when you have the non alchoholic drinks they can be a neon color which would be really cool! :)

have fun! hope this helped! :)

  2. That sounds like fun. Thats a realy good idia! good luck and happy 16th!

  3. wow!

it's my 16th in November but it will be cold and probably raining (live in UK).. So your idea sounds fab! :)

Just make sure you have some really good music and food

as long as you are okay with any "gate crashers" because if you are on the beach - an open space, you'll probably get them!

    ...oh and get a pinata.

  4. You must have a pinata. They're the best.

  5. Start looking for your special spot right now and reserve!  If your favorite beach is part of a State Park, you may have to pay a fee for using it.  And, some parks have restrictions on how old someone must be to reserve and use the area.  Also, some beaches don't allow bon fires or loud music!  So, check it all out now.  If you want to do a restaurant, go online and see what your area has to offer.  You have time to visit and see if it meets your needs. Find out if they have a banquet menu and if there is a minimum charge.  What's your budget?  Talk to your folks about your celebration and see what they can afford and go from there.  You might be able to get more of what you want, but have to invite fewer persons, given what your folks say.  Here are some other ideas:

    1.  Rent a large tent that can be decorated, have a dance floor, and lots of little white lights!

    2.  Consider renting a country club that has a pool if the beach won't work.

    3.  Food:  have a signature punch, non-alcoholic of course!

Or, hire a bartender to make non-alcoholic drinks during the evening.  Decide on dinner or snacks. Dinner should be simple:  roasted chicken, rice pilaf, fresh green beans, fruit salad, warm bread/rolls.  Snacks should be fun and interesting:  pizza rollups, bruschetta, antipasta platter, chips and salsa, fruit kabobs, cupcakes, brownies, cookies, lemon bars etc.
