Here's something I wrote. I'm starting to write songs for my new band, but I'm not polished and I don't know if this makes a good song. Maybe a poem? Anyway, here it is:
You cry foul, scream for justice
Make sharp accusations without knowing all the facts
Your ears only open to one side
For the voice of the other is nothing but lies
Did you ever stop to think
That things aren't always as they appear?
3 boys convicted of a horrible crime
With no evidence, only claims and tears
As your eyes scan the story, anger leaps in your heart
To you, the matter is simply black and white
You need no further convincing, your opnion formed
Did you ever stop to think
That there are two sides?
The press catches word
And a wildfire sweeps across Tobacco Road
3 boys now isolated from the world
Singled out, left to die
With no defense, only biting resent
And no one stopped to think
That truth may rest on the lips of these boys
