  1. For 95% of the people online poker is overall a positive thing.  It is a fun, exciting and competitive activity that can be done from the comfort of your own home at a time convenient to yourself.  What is wrong with playing a $5 sit and go to relax before bed?

Unfortunately there is a small percentage of people who will play poker with money they really can't afford to be spending.  The same is true with anything (including video games), certain people will get too wrapped up into the activity for their own good.

  2. lame and horibbel

  3. all depends if your a winning player its good if ur a loser its bad

  4. It works for me. I make extra money winning tournaments playin Texas hold'em on pokerstars.

  5. Well in some cases its bad and partly good, but i wouldn't try it if the a ask for your credit card number, forget it move on.

  6. There's nothing wrong with online poker. Most people are playing with play money, and most of the people who play real money are playing at the micro limit tables. I don't think anyone's going to go broke blowing $20 every couple of weeks in an online poker room. Yes, I'm sure there are some people who go overboard and blow a ton of money, but if I had to guess, I'd imagine that the overall percentage of gambling addicts playing online poker is a fraction of what it is in the overall gambling community. It's a pain in the behind to get money to an online poker room, and it takes a lot of effort to make a deposit. Most compulsive gamblers burn their money on spur of the moment bets.

The biggest negative is that it drains money out of the economy. Americans are still by far the most common players at any poker site, and their sending their money to the people who run the sites in Aruba or where ever. Even though each person only spends a little bit, those $20 buy-ins add up to millions and millions of dollars leaving this country. The only way to resolve that problem is for the government to remove it's ridiculous ban on US based online poker rooms.
