We are thinking of naming our little girl (due 12/6) August Elizabeth. August is after my husband's great-great-grandfather, and Elizabeth is after my great-great-grandmother. What do you think? Is it too masculine?

  1. It's a nice thought, but I knew a girl named August and her name was pretty easy to make fun of.  Elizabeth is nice, but if you keep August, it'd be best as a middle name if it is still a must.

  2. August is one of those truly masculine names.  I think your tribute is sweet, but I would go with Elizabeth August or consider a variation of August instead.  I can't think of a good feminine version of August besides Augusta, which I don't think is very feminine.  Would Elizabeth August work for you?

  3. I know someone who has kids named:

    April Denise-girl

    May Brenda-girl

    June Dayton- boy

July Roslynn(they call her Julia or Jul)- girl

    August James-boy

Funny huh? Haha at first I thought it was strange, but it's also kinda catchy lol. August works for a girl as well. A very unique name that reminds me of summer....Sun, Flowers, Rainbows....Sounds like a girl to me  =)

  4. I think it sounds really sweet. I don't think it is too masculine. The "elizabeth" really makes it girly :)

  5. No it is not masculine at all! I absolutely love that name! You and your husband have excellent taste in names! It is very classic yet unique. No matter what others say, this name is perfect for your little girl. Go for it!

  6. Elizabeth August is much prettier. August is to masculine for a girl.

  7. I think it's a sweet tribute, but I'd keep it in the middle name slot.

  8. i like the name august. i have never heard of it before for a girl but to me is more feminin than masculin. elizabeth is beautiful too. it would be pretty to have it as a doubble name August Elizabeth.(With Elizabeth as the middle name but call her both.) but if your gilr just wants just august later because she thinks elizabeth is too old fashion(even though it is beautiful) she can just be august.

  9. It's nice but really I've only known of boys named August

  10. i think its cute but very old fashioned

  11. i think it's a beautiful name and not at all masculine. congrats on your baby girl :)

  12. How do you know it's a baby girl?

  13. i like it
