I think that more than likely there are lying about it being accidental..I do not see how any 'real' parent could forget their child & leave them in a hot vehicle.It's so sad.

You know i sympathies. I have never done it but i can see where it can happen.   Maybe I am a bad person or a bad parent but people aren't perfect.  I have on more than one occassion gone in the direction of work  when i have my daughter in the car (my wife is a stay at home mom and only a  handful of times in her two years have i had to take her to grandmas rather than go straight to work)  I can see where someone will get to work and get out and forget if the child falls asleep.  

It must be the most heart breaking thing in the world to  forget your child.

I feel bad for them because i can see where it could be me if my child was not so talkative

To be honest, I don't understand how you can "accidentally" leave your child in the car. I mean, come on! You can forget your keys or a gallon of milk, but your own kid? How can you possibly forget about your own child? You would have to be totally irresponsible and scatter brained to not remember that your child is with you, especially since they have to be buckled in. I think they should throw the book at them. People who do that, certainly shouldn't have kids!

I think they should be made to sit in a hot car as long as their kid had to. Its as horrible as people leaving their dogs in a car during the summer.

okay bring on the thumbs down...

but you can't really do anything to the parents if they say it was an accident.  and who knows, it could have been one of those days.  point is, you can't know what someone's thinking when they do something.  but.  and this is a huge but.  those same parents are going to have to live with the consequence of their irresponsible actions for the rest of their natural lives.  And that can be the WORST punishment ever.  I just take it as a reminder that children are our best and biggest commodity (treasure) and we have to do just that.  Treasure them and let nothing happen to them.

I think they are disgusting and should be shot on sight! Plain and simple. How do you think the responding police or paramedic feel when they roll up on a dead child in a car! Probably like beating the living h**l out of the parents!

Flat out child neglect.  Same with pets.  I dont think some parents do it accidently.  They just don't want to put up with the kid.

i feel bad for them becuz i  do understand that if  they  normally dont  drop there kids of at day care that can easily happen..i feel most of them  really do it accidently and feel horrible about it..

I just do not understand how a parent can "accidently"  leave their child in a hot car.  Or "accidently" leave them anywhere really for that matter.  Everybody has their own stresses and problems and minds going here and there but in the end, every parent knows that their child/children is and should always be # 1.  If a child gets left behind, especially in a place such as a hot car, then that parent is not putting their child first and that leads me to wonder what else the poor kid is having to suffer through.

You accidentaly leave keys in a car. You accidentally leave your purse in the car, you accidentally leave your cell phone in the car. You don't "accidentally" leave a child in a car. Whether the car is hot or isn't. Do people just forget that they have a child with them or what.
