Someone killed himself and left a wife and a year old baby. I am a serious angry at him. I find him rude, cruel, selfish and hating his wife and his only child. The wife does not know the reason. I mean, is he crazy? Or was he crazy?

  1. I don't think we can judge if we are not in that person's shoes. I think their despair is so great that they can't think of any other way out. Possibly their self-regard is at that stage so low due to depression, that they think they are doing their loved ones a favour by opting out. Depression is a terrible thing. My sister killed herself 16 years ago after years of depression. There are no easy answers.

  2. People who choose that path are almost always suffering from severe depression. A form or mental illness. They don't always process reality as they should and can see no other course of action.

  3. It is not a decision taken lightly, and i know it is hardest for the ones that's left behind ..........sad to think if he/she just talked to someone it might not have been necessary to commit suicide

  4. The goal of suicide is not to die, but to find a way out of the pain.  We don't know the pain the person felt.  I feel very, very sad for the loss of human potential and for the surviving family and friends.  Those people experience wracking, terrible guilt for having not been able to see what was coming.  Sometimes there are no signs, and people need to know that suicide doesn't happen as a result of any one event.  Nobody deserves to feel they are to blame.

Was he crazy?  Maybe, if by crazy you mean did he have mental illness, known or unknown.  Depression is a common underlying feature of people who have committed suicide.

When the day comes that somebody close to you commits suicide, I don't think you will feel anger, only sadness and disbelief.

I don't feel qualified to judge.

  5. I feel sorry for them, but the worst is these parents that kill thier children and then themselves living the other parent alone and devastated, that is the worse and most selfish thing ever.

  6. It is a very selfish thing to do especially if you have people who depend on you, but people do it for many different reasons.

  7. suicide is nothing to joke about as you can say ppl,its not something that a person decides overnight.it something that has hurt a person so much for a long time.and believe it not one coincident that leads to suicide.a person suffers alot in a way that they think suicide is the answer to al their problems.it can be hunger, loss of someone that you love, loneliness, feeling rejected by the most important ppl in your life and staff, and nobody takes you seriously when you speak coz even our psychologists and social workers now only cares abt being paid at the end of the month not their clients,

  8. When you see someone with an injury and there is blood and visible pain,we sympathise because we understand this pain. The anguish and pain of depression is invisible but very real and results in suicide in many cases. Yes,it is selfish but this person cannot help themselves as one cannot walk on a broken leg. Was he crazy? Yes,he probably was and in a lot of pain too. We just don't see it.

  9. There are always two sides to a coin.

Sometimes people feel like failures, that there is no hope in life for them or that people would be better without them etc etc.

There is not usually just one reason why people do these things. I think it is wrong and there is always a solution but when your on the inside looking out it is far more blurred then if your on the outside looking it.

I also know someone who committed suicide and it just hurts me that they felt they couldn't talk to anyone because I was always there.

  10. Selfish.

  11. He very likely was suffering from depression.

Trust me, when it gets so severe the only available answer seems to be suicide.

But, there just needs to be one person, one person who will understand that person very well I believe it can get a bit better.

  12. Dead wrong.

Mind you, suicide is the purest form of self criticism.

  13. I also think it is very selfish and that the person who takes their life really doesn't consider how it will affect the people who truly love and care for them.
