Here in Az they passed a new law at trying to stop that practice, which i agree is needed. But is anyone guilty of doing it too, lately?

  1. This needs to be case by case. I know that myself and my mother can talk on a phone and drive very safely....my dad....not so much.

I need to use my phone alot for the type of business I am in. But I do agree..talking on the phone because you just want to chat and drive at the same time is stupid.

I live in Raleigh, NC and they past a law saying if you are under 18 years old that you cant talk and drive.

  2. i think it is rude and obnoxious worse though is those blue tooth phones people look like them talking to themselves i used to be a cashier and it drove me crazy when people came to the register talking on the phone i want to reach out and slap them silly but i couldn't cause i would lose my job of well i should have done it i lost my job anyway

  3. I worry about them and how they affect the rest of us driving. I also worry about the increase in my insurance rates due to crashes caused by these distracted drivers.

  4. Its no different than people driving but looking around for that sports store they're trying to find. No different than the mother trying to discipline her three kids in the back seat. No different that the guy who's driving, but his mind is really off in la-la land. No different than the guy who twists his head around to get a good look at the accident he's driving past. No different than the designated driver who has to put up with 4 drunken idiots in his car.

There are countless distractions equally bad, and worse than cell phones. Its just that cells phones are the most readily identifiable, and easiest to say "well he's an idiot".

I mean seriously, would you approve of a bill that forbids designated drivers from taking more than one drunk? DDs are heroes in some circles, restricting a DD would be reverse thinking!

Or how about restricting parents to only one kid per car? Once again, reverse thinking.

How about some sort of device that tests your lack of sleep? Say you get a 100 dollar fine if you're caught driving a car with less than 8 hours of sleep. Sleepiness on the road can be equivalent to drunk driving, which is worse than cell phones, yet it's cell phones that are being banned.

I think cell phones are being unfairly targetted because they're the most easily identifiable. Either you're got that phone up to your ear, or you don't... easy tickets, easy money.

  5. h**l I've seen people driving while attempting read a newspaper.. so ya know.. nutz..

  6. I seriously hate it, it's one of the only laws that gets on my nerves, here in aus its illegal and i see people do it soooo often, theres a reason its illegal, it takes your concentration off driving and then you cause accidents

  7. yeah

I THINK THEY ARE  RECKLESS .

  8. Mostly I think they're oblivious.

I just won't do it anymore - too many times found myself dangerously inattentive.  Just can't do it.

In fact, if I call someone and they're driving, I tell 'em to call me back when they get there.

  9. I agree that it needs to be done worldwide and the fines need to be very strict also the only time that you should use your cell phone in a car would be for an emergency........

  10. I really hate the soccer moms that have a million kids in the back and trying to talk on their phones at the same time. They go like 30 in a 55 zone. Where I live and people are getting off the toll road there is a turn with a yield and these soccer moms just stop there when you are supposed to just go.......................

  11. i think  people should be beatin and publicly flogged

  12. What I think would be censored.

  13. Sometimes I just want to grab their cell phone and throw it into a lake. I get really annoyed at drivers that are not paying attention to the road because they are too busy yakking away on their cell phone. I have almost been hit several times by drivers talking on cell phones. People need to put their cell phones down and pay attention to the road before they kill themselves or someone else.

  14. I think it's pure talent!

  15. If they use a wireless headset, i can tolerate it. other than that i would like to ram them with a semi and watch their car spin across the freeway

  16. I do use my cellphone while driving but I use a bluetooth so I can concentrate on the road. I have seen I don't know how many people almost cause an accident because of it. My husband was on his motorcycle the other day and this woman almost ran over him and she was on a cellphone. He said she never even saw him.

  17. I could care less as long as they remain safe drivers. you would not believe the numbers of mothers I have seen turn around while driving to tend to the baby in the back seat is that safer than a cell phone.
