  1. My opinion… I hear some religious people saying Global Warming isn’t real because it goes against their understanding of the Bible.

Others will say that if anything happens to us or the planet, it is God’s plan, God’s will or whatever.

At least this sort of thing is an indication that not all religious groups are not altogether ignoring the problem, on the contrary, they are embracing the fact that we have a problem and more or less taking the position, if you don’t try to be less of a polluter, you may as well be sinning…  hey, whatever works!  Less pollution is good for all of us.

Besides, how did the other listed sins get put into writing anyway?  God’s wrote a list?  No…  man made the list, enforced by the Church and now a new sin has been added… probably in much the same way the old ones were.

But for anyone who believes something like this is simply God’s will one way or another… Wake up… it doesn’t and will never work like that.

If God gave you the ability to quickly spring out of the way, but instead, you freeze up and get smacked by an oncoming vehicle… that’s not God’s doing, that’s yours… you had a choice before crossing in front of the vehicle, and you could have jumped out of the way.  It’s a choice not fate.  Same is true with Global Warming.  If God is giving us a chance and all the signs he can muster to clue us in and come to the conclusion that we need to unite now and do something, but we take too long and are still going around in circles reducing emissions and so on decades from now, and then it becomes too late to do anything… that was our choice.

So for those who believe in God… remember, it still comes down to it being your choice.  But the choice to not pollute shouldn’t come down from God or your church, it should be from you.  Sin or not, polluting is a terrible thing.

  2. That's so stupid you cant just make up new sin's, plus we arent supposed to be so "attached" to this planet......so it's total b.s.

  3. Polluting is a sin against the Earth.

Wasn't excessive wealth on the list? The Catholic Church is probably on of the richest organizations on the planet.

  4. I think they need to replace the Pope!

He forgets that the morality of the people and Gods will are two different things.

There is no where in the bible that says Thou shall not pollute.

And in the bible Priests marry and have children

Now with this new stand it just goes to show how much the church is getting out of touch with its faith.

Popes are supposed to be spiritual leaders. To many times they make policy for their own feel good reasons and forget that point.

  5. I'm a Baptist, so I think it could lead to dancing.

  6. You don't need a guy with a white hat to tell you that. The guys with the white coats have been telling us that for years. Common sense tells us that we should all be more environmentally friendly for the future sake of the planet.

  7. well, they apparently haven't caught on to world over population.

  8. I think it's a good idea.

God gave us this Earth to take care of it; to keep it clean and healthy. I know I wouldn't be happy to look down from heaven to see litter everywhere.

I mean, I don't think anyone would go to h**l because they littered. But it is getting to be a serious issue, so we should start caring a little bit more. =)

  9. i would consider it already part of other named sins, like gluttony and  sloth

  10. What about blackmail is that a sin.

  11. I believe these " new " sins are an interpretation of the Ten Commandments given to us by God.

The Ten Commandments are the rules to live our life by.

If you follow the Commandment -

Honor thy Father and Mother, you will obey all other commandments.

How? Would your father and mother want you to lie, cheat, steal, sneak, trick ... or even litter?

We should care for our home - earth.

  12. that does not apply to ROME the garbage is real bad over there I think that wen we clean house we have to begin with or  own

so there is goes to show you that he does not get out much

  13. good as in a way you are causing harm to others if you do pollute the earth.

  14. it depends....

I see a lot of illegals in this country- they are very religious,

yet they do not recycle - or do anything to protect our

environment-however, they dont speak English, so they

are unaware of the problems here...can we call that a sin-

    if they are ignorant?

A better solution is getting the message across to many

    people in an un-judgmental way

and...over population is a form of pollution- yet the catholic

    church is against birth control.....

    mmmmmmmmmm

  15. No, they are just being their usual idiotic selves.  When they start telling their parishoners to use birth control, thereby helping with one of the biggest environmental problems in the world, the population explosion, then I'll start taking them seriously.
