Rumor has it that the 01 from DEI will lose sponsorship end of this year, thus Childress may buy the owner points from DEI to secure Boywer top 35 start in the #33 due to the sponsors request since Meares will take over the 07?? nasccar.com posted today!

  1. Regan Smith is a rookie so it is not expected of him to be better than 43rd in points. I would say it is unfair.

  2. Its fair, he and his team have been working very hard this year. They have earned it.

  3. if the owner changes no points move, if the driver stays with the same owner, he keeps the points. simple easy rule to keep people from playing with a system where points are supposed to be earned.

  4. Fair or unfair does not matter.

When Mike Helton is at the helm, all you need is a number 2 pencil and it's a rule.

  5. It doesn't matter if it's fair or not. It's NASCAR, it's business.

  6. how about this? how about NASCAR comes to there senses and lets the first fastest 43 cars qualify, no points no past champions, you were a champion 7 years ago....that dosent mean you should get a free pass to race because you cant make the field now

  7. NASCAR has never been too concerned with whether something is fair or not.  Once they set precedence they need to be as consistent as they can, even though that's not always the case.   What's NOT fair is Richard taking Clint out of the 07 car in the first place and giving him a whole new team!  He must have his reasons but I know Clint is not very happy about it.

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  8. I think that they need to just let those points go away. It is not fair to the other rookies that did not have owners points from a previous team..not to mention he is not getting anything from DEI the sponsor is leaving them and going elsewhere...there is no car number or anything else that DEI owns going with Boywer.

  9. If it happens it wont be the first time its happened. Michael Waltrip bought the #77 car owner points a few years ago to be able to make it in the field and Kurt gave his points to the #77 so he could make the first few races just to name a few. I'm not all that happy with it but Nascar has let them do it before and will do it again. I agree with Treg.
