What do you think of sad art?

I look at art in different ways.  If a artist uses subjects that appear to be "sad" then I would like to see how they capture the sadness through their artwork.  Does the subject look interesting to me in the artwork and does it have depth.  That's how I look at "sad art."  I don't think any artwork is considered "sad art." But I do see artwork where the artist can capture a sad scene or a sad look on a person.
