My community is short on school bus drivers this year. The school board took over busing from the private contractors because they would not give up using vans to pick up students. The contractors have all refused to drive for the 'new boss'. I am taking my school bus driving test at 2:30 this afternoon. I've already passed my written test with flying colours. My route has only 5 country students to pick up.

Personally, I think I am a Saint for taking on the job.

I think they have a really hard job to do and don't get thanks enough. My mom began driving a school bus years ago when my brother and I were young because she wanted to be able to work, but have the same hours we did so she could still be home with us. She is awesome at what she does. She respects the kids on her bus, so they in turn respect her. She's always there with a listening ear, but at the same time is willing to get loud when she needs to. From my experience, most school bus drivers rock!
