  1. It is not as easy as it sounds or looks.  Our whole world, at least in this part of the world is not built around simplicity.  Even if you want to do things in a simple manner, you are confronted with anything but "simple".

But, when you can replace the "simple" in at least parts of your life, it is worth the time and trouble to do so.

You have to realize that it is not simple to get to the simple - no pun intended. Sort of like clearing out the clutter in the house. Takes time, but the end result is good and will last quite a while.

  2. I love it, I might even look into more.

  3. Sometimes I like enjoying the free things in life, smelling the flowers, and not going overboard in buying "stuff."  But I must say that materialism is far a far more addictive activity than one might care to admit; after all, who hasn't bought at least something that was "brand name"?  So either the person who doesn't choose to participate in simple living either feels ostricized by his peers, or deprived for not having the opportunity to share common experiences of materialism with his neighbors.

Yet, that being said, sometimes I enjoy making a vow to myself that I will not buy anything on a particular day.  It gives me an opportunity to appreciate that which I already have, both in physical assets, and more especially, in human relationships and matters of sprituality and faith.

  4. Very well could be the answer to the world's problems. Once we get caught up in societies trappings we begin to desire. From there it could lead to obsession, into greed, jealousy and violence.

Simple living would allow us to enjoy what we have and treasure the true value in our lives, friends, family and the bounties the earth has to offer.

Problem is man needs to own, control, and covet which leads us all to pain

  5. For a long time I was in love

Not only in love, I was obsessed

With a friendship that no one else could touch

It didn't work out, I'm covered in shells

And all I wanted was a simple thing

    A simple kind of life

And all I needed was a simple man

So I could be a wife

I'm so ashamed, I've been so mean

I don't know how it got to this point

Ooh I always was the one with all the love

But you came along, I'm hunting you down

Like a sick domestic abuser lookin' for a fight

And all I wanted was the simple things a simple kind of life

Oh if we met tomorrow for the very first time

Would it start all over again?

Would I try to make you mine?

    I always thought I'd be a mom

Sometimes I wish for a mistake

The longer that I wait the more selfish that I get

You seem like you'd be a good dad

Now all the simple things are simply too complicated for my life

How'd I get so faithful to my freedom? a selfish kind of life

When all I ever wanted was the simple things a simple kind of life

  6. Looks good, count me in!
