Next year I will be starting at a college that is a 45 minute drive and a 2hr bus/train commute. I don't have a car and I can't afford on-campus housing. I know that commute is gonna be h**l on me, but that's the only school that gave me a enough money...

  1. I strongly recommend you take on-campus housing, at least for the first year of school.  Take out student loans if you have to.  It will be a very rewarding experience, and you won't have to spend so much time travelling, which means more time to focus on schoolwork and better access to campus libraries and such all day.

  2. After the first couple of weeks the train ride will be study time. Learn a lot get a degree so you won't have to be an automechanic unless you want to.

  3. You do what you gotta do. You can study on the commute.

    Good luck.

  4. I commute 45 minutes to school every day because I live in a rural area.  Sometimes you just do what you've got to do.  Make the most of it though and give it you're 100%. If you have to travel that far for an education make sure you get the most out of it!

  5. I say that if you like the school, the affordability, and what rewards it will reap you in the future, take those hours and make them advantageous...study, contemplate life, or people watch..all which will aid in your education....that way, if you have a good mind for what you are going through, you will work out the stress

  6. I think graduation will be one of the most rewarding days of your life and worth the sacrifice!  You won't regret it!  Best of luck to you.
