Do super teams, such as Henderick Motor Sports in NASCAR and Andretti Green Racing in IRL, make things more interesting and / or competitive? Do they do just the opposite?

  1. It gives the other teams to the chance to catch up to and strive to do better. I can't say it is a bad thing because I like where the sport is now and everything has to be right for it to be where it is today. It makes it less interesting when the same teams win but more exciting when the other teams catch up.

  2. It changes the competition, but I think overall it's ok. The days of one car, one team are long gone. It does seem to make it tougher for a new team to become competitive in the sport.

  3. In drag racing the NHRA addressed the problem with super teams by only allowing each team owner to have 4 cars per pro class (i.e. funny car, top fuel dragster, pro stock) but there are still some problems with drivers taking dives for their team mates. I think it makes things interesting but some what unfair. It gets really interesting when 2 Schumacher cars(or other big teammates) pull up next to each other you just have to sit there and wonder gee which ones going to smoke the tires or red light... Its not as obvious in drag racing as it is in other racing series but it happens... And it always will...
