well it is obviously a little bit weird. Kids always think of teachers as people who have no lives and basically stay at school. If you are friends with your teacher on facebook that is a little weird. Pretty close to crossing the line i think.

  For the student, not really, nice to know how your teacher is REALLY like. For the teacher, kind of embarrassing. The student fussing around in your buisness, if something shows up unappropriate, that can quickly spread to other students, then parents, then teachers. Can't really trust them with facebook

Well, it kind of crosses professional boundaries a bit - like a doctor having a friendship with a patient, or a lawyer having a friendship with a client.

You need to have a certain professional detachment in order to do your job properly.

i think it's creepy. i mean it's fine if the teacher has a facebook or a myspace, but i dont like the fact that they're friends with their students.
