What do you think of teachers that call patriotism "hubris"?

What do you think of teachers that call patriotism "hubris"?

I've never run across that.  Do they refer to all patriotism as hubris, or is it just certain forms of hubris?  Since the dictionary definition of hubris is "overbearing pride or presumption; arrogance", it would apply to those who think their country is naturally superior to others, which goes well beyond patriotism, or loyalty to country.

You don't give a context for this statement, which makes it difficult to know whether they have  erred in some way, in a professionalism sense.  I'd say off the top of my head that they are entitled to have an opinion, though.
