What do you think of the Government officials taking off for a vacation?

Especially, when things are in such a mess right now economy wise.

Several Democrats voted along with Republicans in the House of Representatives not to take the vacation.  I don't know the exact number, but I do know it's in the teens(13 I think).  It only took one more Democrat to turn the vote, but Republicans could not find that last Democrat vote that was needed.  Vacation was approved by only one vote.  Democrats in Congress should be completely ashamed, except for those who had sense enough to vote to stay and work.   If they vote to drill for oil now, we could have US oil at our gas pumps within 18 months.  Wow, less dependancy on foreign oil would be great!  But Democrats in Congress are bent on not letting that happen.  Mostly because the Democrat Party has completely bought into the myth of global warming, and they want us all to drive electric cars that only go 40mph.

Well....sweety...I guess even those Super-mega-HIGH-paid- Gov.-officials are entitled to their "vacation-time"..- You have to look at it like this: They're only "human" as we are...-We just don't have such lucrative "jobs" , where one gets paid LOTS...for doing ... LITTLE !!! And besides, do you really think, that only   O N E  of "them" cares, what mess the country is in ??? Do you actually think, they are concerned about our suffering economy, the state-deficit, the reduced export ...-or- anything..."alike" ??? Why should they "worry" about ..."the little man's troubles" to get his tank filled at the gas-station, when they're being driven by Chauffeured-Limousines ???? Do you get it ??? They don't give a d**n, because they're.... NOT affected by ...OUR "troubles" !!! Hope, you've got "my message"..

The media does this every year. They put it out there that the congress is taking a vacation and they don't want to fix anything. Well, News Flash....Congress has taken a break every year and they will continue to take breaks. They all come from different states and they have homes and families to spend time with. Yeah, the gas prices are too high but congress can't do anything about them without a long term plan so the media and the nation should let them have some "me" time.

Personally, I think the people who work in congress are numb and out of touch when it comes to getting things done in a timely manner.

I thought I heard their vacation time was for a month. Am I wrong?

well, you can't expect them to work 7 days a week 365 days a year can you? government employees are gonna take vacations like any other type of employee. seriously, if you get no vacation time then i doubt anyone would run for public office in the first place. even the president who isnt doing **** takes vacations.
