  1. hes an idiot and look another life guitar hero has taken over tsk tsk tsk

  2. According to the article, he is NOT dropping out as you say, but rather changing the mode of learning from public school to private tutoring, home schooling. You make it sound like he is giving up school to play video games, which is NOT the case. OK, this is no more ridiculous than kids being home schooled who are working on gymnastics to make the Olympics. If parents choose that path and the kids STILL get a decent education, then where's the harm? Personally, for me, I think the odds of making money at a fad game like this are probably worse than for winning a state lottery, but who;s to say he won't be an unlikely winner? After all, Tony Hawke did it with skateboards. Who knows? Maybe they will make guitar hero an Olympic sport. After all, 2 player team beach volleyball is now a medal winning event! Which is something I never thought I would see! By the way, the article says "private tutoring" which  IS equivalent to a private school, only with a class size of 1 and is every bit as good or better than any other school.

  3. Since he's home-schooled, he still gets an education. So it doesn't matter that much.

  4. Better than dropping out of school to join a gang and rob people I guess. But not by much.

  5. This kid is a bloody moron! I love guitar hero, but i can't see myself dropping out of school to play it. Why cant he just play it after school?

    I Agree this is ridiculous

  6. freeking retarded

thats getting him nowhere in life

    what a dumb ***

  7. i wish i could make the burger fliping noise....ctsssss....flip...ctssss

  8. guitar hero is really fun but when u beat everything its going to be a drag, but I do know everybody think that was stupid but it would be fun not going to school and playing video games then again he has a homeschool that sucks alittle. At least he will learn a little something something.

  9. Are you guys all idiots? He is being home schooled so he did not drop out.  He is still going to school, he will still get a diploma.

  10. i was just reading this article off of yahoo, i think this kid is a complete r****d and is going to be living off his parents money

  11. i think that's ridiculous.

  12. I think it's pretty stupid but he would probably just end up failing because he wouldn't try so I guess there isn't really a point in him being at school. BUT I certainly wouldn't let my son go play a stupid video game "for chicken sandwiches" instead of going to school.

  13. I just read that! it is ridiculous. what kind of parents let their kid do that?? He's going to be a failure. I mean, it says that he's won various competitions where he's won gift cards and chicken sandwiches. you can't live on gift cards and chicken sandwiches!

  14. Needs to get a life.  You can't have a good life based on a video game.  But at least he is getting some education.  I know kids who are very smart(er than me) who are home schooled  You can't live in your mom's basement your whole life though...

  15. i think his parents are just ugh

atfirst i thought it was a joke.

i mean who the h**l would let their child do that?

  16. he better be good

  17. dats mad g*y 2 leave skool 4 games skools boring games aint but still

  18. I read the article and he's not winning cash prizes, that's how much money he's winning in video gaming equipment. A person with a high school diploma gets more respect than a drop out. I wouldn't go buying my kid a homeschooling teacher just so she could play guitar hero or any other video games. I don't see any cash future in it. There are actually classes that teach you how to invent your own video games for money and that's in college and to get to college, a person needs a HS diploma. I think he's spoiled.

  19. What A  LOOSER of course he won't realize that until its way to late and he can't get a decent job but hey everyone needs someone to wash dishes in restaurant's and scrub toilets.

  20. What. an. idiot.

  21. It says he's being home schooled so..why is it such a big deal?...he's still getting his schooling...just at home...you don't have to go to a public school full of drug addicts to get a good education.Home schooling is just as good if not better then public school.

  22. Good for him! He's 16 and so talented!

That's just so rude, ok so you're not one of those people who like video games or feels like it's such a waste to have potential and lose it by dropping school.  I agree, I don't like drop-outs, but it seems like he's set, he's won many tournaments, he has potential but in a different sense.  He's living his dream, good for him I say.  Better than wasting his gifted hands on working in some office or something.  Besides video gaming, while fun, is also beneficial because it increases many of your abilities, like your reaction, hand-eye coordination, and more.

And of course, maybe in his 20s, people will start to lose interest in him, and he'll have to get a job, but I know lots of people who haven't graduated high school due to more personal conflicts with family, but they're actually doing good in life.  Have an average job, can pay rent, they're getting by.  And with all the cut-backs lately due to economy failing, it's not so bad to have an average job than those multi-million corporations letting many go.

And yea, apparently he's being tutored at home, what's wrong with that?

  23. Whatever. It's not your life, there's no reason you should care about what he does. He'll make big bucks, just like an athlete, and anyway he is continuing his education so he'd just be like a normal home-schooled kid.

    Why do you care?

  24. he is still being taught so what ever.

  25. hes stupid and so are the parents.

  26. stupid asses, im sure they go get a welfare check too

  27. My first thought was that this was a very bad idea, but after reading the article, I think it's fine.  He's being home schooled (just like a lot of kids are) and appears to be doing his homework.  He was teased at school and hated it, so he may be learning more by being taught at home anyway.  He probably won't make it as a pro gamer (who does?), but his family is OK with it, and they know him best.  These people are not freaks, they seem to be well put together.
