10 people have had Epileptic Fits

100,000 have had Apoplectic Fits

And it's also induced Vomiting and Nausea.

That pr*tt Livingstone is now claiming that he "knows nothing about it"

ONE YEARS WORK! £400,000 SPENT!

And the Mayor "knows nothing about it"?

BTW this advertising firm,Wolff Olins was brought in when Nalgo, Cohse, and Nupe (Unions of Public Employees) amalgamated.

Wolff Olins said "Have you any ideas"?

The Unions said "Unison"

Wolff Olins said "Sounds OK. That'll be £65,000."

Unions said "Fine. It's only public money"

You can see some designs from ordinary blokes on the BBC and News sites.

What do you think?

  1. I think it's awful, like a migraine waiting to happen. If that's the best we can come up with for the logo, then God help us. We'll be the laughing stock of the sporting World.  We're  loosers again, before a single event has been run.  The junior school round the corner from me could produce something  better than that, and it wouldn't cost a fortune in time or money either.

  2. I think the logo is a pathetic considering how much money was thrown at it. The one's I've seen on the BBC news progs, just from the viewers are more appropriate...and certainly more memorable and I thought that was the idea. To have a memorable symbol. This one will certainly be remembered, for being the biggest load of overpriced rubbish in the history of the games.

  3. anyone can make a logo of that quality for 2 p and get a change back.

Why didnt they ask some art students to design one and give the money to students fund..???

  4. I think its letters trying to be figures.

  5. the first time I saw it I thought it would be unsutiable for people with epelipsy etc.

But putting that aside hate it anyway, it seems dated and poor quality graphics

  6. Its awful---they would have been better making the design from childrens ideas in a Blue Peter  or schools competition. That would have cost nothing and would have involved all the nations chidren.

  7. since someone on here yesterday said it looks like Lisa Simpson doing something she's not old enough to be doing, that's all i see when i see it.

  8. It sure looks like a couple having s*x in the doggie style, with the man on the left, showing us the side view. Otherwise it is too abstract to mean anything else.

  9. Saw it for the first time yesterday on GMTV, had to look away as it made me feel physically sick. I'm not surprised that it triggered epileptic fits because that's what I thought at the time.

  10. absolutely horrendous, sad reflection of this Country's finest.  their fee should be withheld; they did not even check out the strobbing effects.  have it abolished.

  11. Its f'ing shite!

  12. Oooo.

Having a background in art, I am supposed to approach "art" with a mind that looks for the artistic expression . . .

I have to agree with your assessment however; it is not what I'd call good, or even "art."

I do take exception to some that say it is "juvenile" as I really think children are more creative than this.

I would say this is a forced, and restrained attempt at modern art.  I tend to prefer traditional art myself, so it may be that my bias is showing.

Take heart though, perhaps your voices will be heard and the design will be changed.

  13. I think it's fine - why the fuss ?  Oh, I see - The Daily Mail doesn't like it - so we are all ordered to hate it.  If there's anything more overpowering than this government, it's the frigging tabloid press.  It's a logo.  It's OK.  Now worry about something important.

  14. I teach IT. On Monday I set my beginners class an exercise - design a logo for the Olympics using just the drawing tool in Microsoft word.

Each and everyone of them came up with something more creative and aesthetically pleasing than that load of old (Anglo-Saxon expletive!)

  15. People the world over will forget FASTER.

If GBP 600K was spent just for this ,the Olympic budget is sure to go HIGHER.

The British feelings are bound to be STRONGER.

  16. Some regular blokes have a much better concept of the idea of a logo for London!  What were they thinking?

I, too, saw the question yesterday comparing the logo to Lisa Simpson.....now can not look at the logo the same!

Organisers of the 2012 London Olympics have defended their new logo following widespread public criticism.

The jagged emblem, based on the date 2012, was unveiled on Monday and has sparked a huge response.

An online petition calling for it to be scrapped has more than 25,000 signatures and over 3,200 messages have been posted on the BBC Sport website.

But a London 2012 spokesman told BBC Sport: "The emblem is flexible and will evolve over the next five years."

She added: "Our emblem needs to be modern, bold, flexible and as relevant today as in five years' time.

I don't like it at all - but then I didn't like flares. But here's why we should give it a chance..

    Interactive Olympics editor Claire Stocks

"We want our Games to be different. We are hosting them in a different era, in 2012.

"The emblem needs to work across new platforms that reach young people."

The new logo was unveiled by Seb Coe, chairman of the London 2012 organising committee, at London's Roundhouse on Monday.

It was designed by the Wolff Olins agency and cost £400,000.

Lord Coe believes the logo, which will be used for both the Olympic and Paralympic Games, will convey the right message for the Games.

"It won't be to be everybody's taste immediately, but it's a brand that we genuinely believe can be hard working... and reach out and engage young people, which is our challenge is over the next five years," he told BBC Sport.

"It's not a logo, it's a brand that will take us forward for the next five years."

Organisers hope the brand will boost the marketing push to raise £2bn to stage the Games and convey the message that London 2012 will be "Everyone's Games".

  17. Its okay its only a logo, no one like it no probs, they'll just pay for another one to get made, except its gonna be short notice cos we are getting nearer to the games, better call it 600,000 this time.

  18. It hurts my eyes. It is to loud, and makes you want to look away, and justs is not attractive.

  19. rubbish they could have done a better one , dont know what they were thinking

  20. It looks to me as if it was designed by someone who was having an epileptic fit

  21. I don't like it at all.  It looks like a third grader could have done it!

  22. Absolute tripe.

It looks like someone kid was cutting shapes out of an old cereal box. It took me 10 mins to work out it said 2012!

Saw a thing in the papers where someone had done the shapes to make the word

S**T in the same format thought that summed it up nicely.
