How do they compare to other similiar size aircraft?

They're going bye-bye, thank goodness.  They're a bit of a maintenance nightmare.  Most airlines are retiring them.

I dont like them.. they have bad matinence and also most airlines are retiring them...

The MD 80's are good aircraft but a little old. Some airlines, Like Iberia are replacing them with Airbus A320 family aircraft or Boeing 737 planes.

Ive done a research paper on the MD-80 family, and I think they are a good medium range aircraft. Tho old it held its own in its day and still continues to do so against similar aircraft of its range and passenger capacity.
