I know about the pitching bit if we add a solid free agent pitcher(say Sabatia?) we could be a powerhouse.

  1. I agree with pretty much all of you from a Brewers Fan If you could go after someone like Sabathia that would be great for you guys and have good playoff chances. But as I said I'm a Brewers Fan I hope they can lock up Sabathia rather than Sheets

  2. I like their chances of playing 162 games. Outside of that, I wouldn't get excited. Management in Texas has a longstanding habit of being unable to build or develop a good team.

  3. Unfortunately, the Rangers need more than one ace pitcher.  Their pitching staff is pretty bad from top to bottom, and it almost needs a complete overhaul.  Unless they have an exceptional off-season, they'll still come up short.

  4. I dont think Sabathia is going to the Rangers. I think he'll go to the Yankees

  5. The Rangers could be a dark horse team next year but only if they sign someone like Sabathia. They would probably have to get in through the wild card though especially if the Angels resign Teixeira and find a replacement for K-Rod. They have a great offense with Hamilton, Kinsler, Young, and Bradley, and they also have some good young players such as Saltalamacchia. But if they can sign Sabathia and add another solid number 2-3 starter, they could make a push towards October.

  6. We need at least two solid, veteran pitchers and maybe a few young starters with potential.

Also, we could use a couple more arms in the bullpen.  Eddie Guardado and Jamey Wright are the only fairly consistent pitchers we have.

And I would love to have Sabathia, but that seems unlikely.

  7. unless the rangers get more pitching it will be like this year they will score a lot of runs but won't have the pitching or even that good of a defense to back it up

if the get a big ace like sheets or something and a compliment to hi t hey will be in major contenion even though it may be the wildcard cause the angels dominate that division

  8. legitimatley? if they can get a sure fire ace then they could be the rays of next year.

  9. Good.....Only if they had the Cubs pitching staff! Sorry the Rangers pitching is almost a joke.  Love Mr Hamilton though!!  Michael Young never gets much respect and he may end up with 200 hits again this year!!

  10. One solid pitcher will not be enough to get the Rangers to the playoffs.  With a team ERA of 5.45 and a WHIP of 1.61 they have , by far, the worst pitching staff in MLB.  It is going to take a complete overhaul and they will have to be willing to give up some solid position players, just like the Tigers, to get some solid pitching if they expect to make a run next year.
