  1. Not going to help one bit. We would not see a drop of that oil for at least 10yrs. Our own US owned oil companies are sitting on land that is already owned and drill-able. Why aren't they using that first?

  2. I think that there are strong arguments for both sides.

YES, we need the oil. YES, we need cheaper gas prices. But at what long-term cost?

In thinking of the big picture, will the environmental costs outweigh those that we have right now? It seems like nobody wants to plan or think for the future because of the here-and-now. But the future WILL come, and we need to be prepared. Giving up things now could potentially help us in the long run.

Besides, I thought that there really won't be much drilling going on anyway. Something about another bill that has not been lifted and won't be lifted with this one.

  3. Its better for the US to drill off our shores then China... Because that's who is drilling of our shores right now because they don't have to follow all the environmental c**p...

By the way most people don't know that alot of oil from Alaska never makes it to the US... Why? its more profitable for the oil in Alaska to be sold to Asian countries

  4. Offshore drilling is much more environmentally friendly

that it was 30 years ago when the ban was imposed.

For example, this is done in the North Sea, without

    serious environmental consequence.

As far as the Alaskan ANWAR site, we should also drill

that while the Alaska Pipeline is still serviceable.

In each case, in 50 years, nobody would be able to

tell that anything had gone on there.

  5. We need to get busy with this drilling and stop being dependent on foreign oil.

  6. Drill it all, I want cheap gas!

  7. It really does not matter my opinion nor really anybodies.  It is only a matter of time before all oil reserves will be tapped.  Unless by some miracle we, all of us in the developed countries, change the way we live.  With China now a world economic power the demand for petro based products will increase.  And remember, that crude in not only used to make fuel, but just about everything else.

  8. drill them both
