unless they are making headlines like tossing puppies off of cliffs and committing innumerable other crimes, or stuff that should be war or prisoner of war crimes, the Marines are pretty good, they train harder, they work harder, they are more at risk, and they are amongst the best troops the US has

Unfortunately most of them are there due to economics, and after joining many wish they hadn't but what do you do, You follow orders and try to get home. I consider them as Americas best...

I think it was the toughest and most rewarding time of my life.  I didn't get to stay in long because I broke my ankle and back but I still look on the Marines like it was the greatest learning experience of my life.  I went to college after I got out and they taught me nothing compared to the Marines.

I hope you don't believe those little liberal children who are spouting the BS they tried to say back in the 60s and 70s.  They are cowards and will never know the meaning of serving their country.  They want everything given to them without having to work for it.  Especially don't believe anything the "conservative" says.  He's a troll and has posted questions saying that he was a Marine.  If you don't believe me, look at his profile and his recent questions asked.

The Marines are great if you can handle it.  If your's going to join, good luck and have fun, I know I did.

I think the Marines and the other armed forces (army, navy, air force) are awesome. They do the things necessary to keep the US a free nation. Their job is to kill people and break things if necessary. Not many people will take on a job with those kind of responsibilities. The people that serve this country sacrifice what most of us wouldn't. It is Honorable to serve in the armed forces.

The Marines are bad a@@ to the bone.

Put in your time, do your job and the training can help you throughout your lifetime.

By the way, did you know when you see serviceman salute (hand up towards their forehead) it's a tradition that stems back from when Knights before a joust would lift their visor on their armor to see each others eyes before a joust?

I have the highest respect for them.

They're the watchmen on the wall, who put their lives on the line for all of us every day.

Marines go through rigorous training,  that is harder than anything Al Qaida prisoners are put through during interrogation, as several U.S. senators pointed out in interviews regarding the Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay situations with prisoners.  

I have a friend who will be entering the Marine Corps in August, and my father is a retired Marine (Korean War era).
