What do you think of the Venezuela Women's Volleyball uniforms?

They play in their underwear basically, as a guy I personally love watching them play and think they have really s**y, hot legs. But is there really any advantage to them playing in those uniforms instead of the more traditional tight shorts? Does it make them more athletic, do they have an advantage, why don't all volleyball uniforms switch to this?

Personally I'd imagine the uniforms are more comfortable and really stand up by game 3 in a five game sets.  There would be less to cling to your legs and soak with sweat, a real problem in volleyball.  However the questions here comes down to modesty, most of the players and certainly sponsors and owners aren't down with the girls wearing lycra swimsuit bottoms I imagine.

I imagine until modesty issues are overcome by owners and coaches you won't see this sort of uniform in common usage.

Incidentally, I remember a story in US news a while back about the same problem with a running team at a US High School.  The school board was trying to stop them from wearing them and the team managed to shame them into allowing them by asking if the school board came to play or watch the team.

I like them too, I must say.

As for advantages, I think it is more of a psychological dis-/advantage than an athletic one. In some countries, something like that would be sexist and debasing women, or would hinder them when going for digs. In others, and Venezuela would be one of them, it might be a  matter of pride and belonging, encouraged of course partly by the warm male welcoming.

I think it is for each country/society to choose freely. For instance, I think also, that the African team, Cameroon, that played football (soccer) with their sleeveless shirts (not T-shirts) should have been allowed.
