It's absolutely horrifying!  I was stunned and shocked.  This criminal either was on drugs or just insane.

It's horrifying, really.  But as a Canadian, after reading your links, I do agree with the RCMP who state that this is a "one-of-a-kind" atrocity on Canadian buses.  So I wouldn't panic, everyone.

I have, however - taken the U.S. Greyhound, and experienced alot of weirdoes.  I'd totally forgotten that the U.S. is 'Gun Country' North America.  Someone suggested we need guns. Right..! Then the killer would have had one, they all would have had one, and we know how that goes.  It's always the American Solution.  Get a gun. Then one of the kids might have been accidentally shot.

Although I have to admit that I wasn't there, and I, too may have been in shock.  See, us Canadians aren't as used to, or indifferent about violence.

I'd really like to see the list of passengers - the genders, ages.. the make-up of the people on the bus, because I can't believe that a couple of people just left - I don't get why some of the stronger men, if there were any.. didn't trip him, or try to distract him.  We're NOT known for leaving people to get killed.. which is why we don't have guns.  

And we don't walk by dead bodies in hospitals, or watch people getting attacked or run over, and turn the other cheek, mostly.

This was a rare tragedy.  I hope that they will put metal detectors on now, though.  If there's any good to come from this, that should be it.

a true tragedy!  Will be interesting to see what caused him to do it.  Drugs, emotional problems, etc... Nothing that Greyhound could have done... Happened an hour away from my house.

After Canada instituted "free" health care and banned all firearms, I thought people would finally be able to live forever.  Now this has shaken my faith in Man.  

Nothing could have prevented this but a courageous private citizen trained and armed with a handgun.  That's how Israel reduced the success rate and incidences of homicidal terrorists--by issuing pistol permits and posting police and soldiers everywhere.  

Arguably, Israel's effectiveness at shutting down terrorists before massive casualties are experienced have led terrorists to changing their tactics and becoming suicidal.

I ride that bus at least 3 or 4 times a year, and it is freaking me out. I rode that same scedule last week in fact. Every person I met on that run was always nice and interesting and polite. But there are a lot of crazy people out there. Aparently he cut off the head and guted the guy then carried the head around a bit.

oh my i know!!! thats like EWWWW!!! and he did it infront of everybody i was watching a video on it earlier and there was as 6 year old girl there, her life is going to be screwed! she will have to go to counseling! poor ppl on that buss, i was to scared to do anything i was home alone when i heard about it!!!

well its awful that it happened. i think that the security on the buslines should be raised. People should at least have to walk under a metal detector before boarding buses. i have heard interviews on the news and many news broadcasts about it. I live in a small town in Manitoba, and use the greyhound a lot because we have family in all of Manitoba. It was quite the shock! On a radio station, i heard someone talking about how someone once brought an actual samari sword on the bus! i heard on the news that the victim of this beheading was sitting on the bus listening to music, this guy then just beheaded him! People are saying he needed his time to shine, and needed to be known for something, and now he's really being known for soemthing!

I think that's BULL that Manitoba is the murder capital, theres only 3 areas where theres a higher chance of murder.  

Anywho on CTV Manitoba News they were reporting this and according to another news source the man held up the dead head and made a evil look.

I've taken Manitoba GreyHound and never thought about safety, this report made me think more about how secure ALL transportation should be.

Before you know it Trains will have to have Medal Detectors.

The media claims that only 1 boy was on the bus at the time.
