  1. My favorite city in the world.  Paris is second, followed by Rome and Venice in a close tie.

In BA, the people are friendly, fun loving, and unpretentious.  The prices are right because the dollar remains strong against the Ar Peso.  Where else can you get a great steak dinner plus wine for $10 US?

The five star Sofitel Hotel in downtown BA...just a block or so from Avenida Florida, the Rodeo Drive of BA....cost less than $200 a night.  That's about 1/4 what a comparable hotel in NYC or Paris would cost.

BA is a very clean city.  It's streets, sidewalks, and public restrooms are cleaner than most cities and definitely cleaner than those in Paris.  Their parks are green and plentiful, and also very clean.

Buenos Aires is one of the few places my wife and I would like to go back to some day.

  2. You'll find things there you never dreamed of. Feelings, People, Culture, Food, Experiences.. Take it all in like a deep breath, you'll never want to let it out. It has places I wouldn't want to be in after dark, but if you use common sense. You might leave Bs.As, but it won't soon leave you.

  3. Incredible, beautiful architecture, many cultural activities, excellent food and gorgeous people!

No other city in Latin America compares to Buenos Aires!

  4. I was born and raised in BA - so naturally I´ll say I think it´s a great city!

Beautiful architecture, friendly people, great shopping.

Then there´s the darker side. Insecurity, thefts, assaults, at any time of the day (this didn´t use to be like this...). Filthy streets, if you walk at night on Florida or Lavalle pedestrian streets (and make it safe again to the Hotel) you´ll keep the images of children rummaging the garbage in search of food.

    This makes me so sad.

Sigh - my beautiful city, what has happened to you. They used to call you "la reina del Plata", the queen of the La Plata river.

But if you go as a tourist, without intention of staying longer, you´ll definitely enjoy it and if you go with an organized tour, you probably won´t see the bad sides at all.

Hope you have a good visit!

  5. I absolutely love Buenos Aires. Its my place to escape to, I will probably be living there in the next five years. Everyone is so nice there and laid back too. The food is great, and the night life is even better! Its the perfect city in my opinion.
