My windows were dirty

Until you came

A funny little tool

With a funny little name

Bursting on the scene

You cleared my view

Of all the dead bugs

And dried bird poo

Now there is hope

Clearly I can see

I owe it all to you

My dear brave squeegee

  1. This is two today that have me running for the potty from laughing so hard, good job, never stop.

  2. I never knew that a poem could be written about anything, but a squeegee takes the blue ribbon....this one is tops!!!  You've done it again Semper!!!

    Peace & Love  :)

  3. Someone once posted a question, asking whether poetry could be about "mundane things."

    You have provided the answer!

  4. Very cute, creative, and probably the most original poem ever written.  I doubt there's another one like it.

It's nice to see your sweet and funny side as well as your spiritual and inspirational side.  Thanks for the warm fuzzies :)

  5. Hilarious this is!

You have just proven anything can be poetic.

Don't get them too clean or soon you'll have feathers and bird guts to gaze at and write about.

The giant eraser says I should change proven to pr oven....

    Huh???

  6. Gads, mine need cleaning also...and I have (somewhere in this mess)

    a twin to yours!

    Bugs I got.

    Poo...Noooo.

  7. Thanks, Semper!  More coffee on the monitor!

  8. The ode to the squeegee is timeless. It has been the muse of many of great poems, dating all the way back to about 56 minutes ago.

This was as if the squeegee gods had answered my prayers. Just yesterday morning I almost had an accident due to dirty windows and the fact I was driving East. I had to pull over and clean my windshield with the rag I check my oil with.
