  1. the problem is we have politicians in office and a president that is making a butt-load of money from the high gas prices . for the longest time if somebody farted the wrong way in Iraq it gave those OPEC azzols a reason to raise the cost of a barrel of oil, and everybody knows bush has his fair share of stock in the big oil company's . now , lets all watch bush put his hands together and pretend to be a religious holy man who loves his country.

  2. I think it is great and I could care less.

I cycle to work 16 miles round trip and I've never felt better.  Go ahead and call me a fascist but I hope gas prices get high enough to seriously deter single-occupant commuters.

America needs a change and gas is literally a dinosaur.  Get out of your cars people, cure your addiction and get back to the business of living healthy.

  3. I think the cost of increased fuel expense is enormous.

The major effect of fuel increases for us is the inflationary effect it has on food and other consumer products.  It is not personal transportation costs that is the major problem for us, it is the inflationary costs on everything else.

Considering all factors over the life of a vehicle the fuel cost is one of the lesser costs.  When budgeting for the cost of a car it is not the most expensive item we consider.  Repairs, insurance and monthly payment/interest are all greater costs over time.

But, of course, I'm not driving 150,000 miles per year like an over the road trucker.

For instance: driving the average of 11,000 miles per year @$3.42 per gallon costs approximately $1,650.00 per year, while the monthly payments for the car is $4,788 per year.  Add depreciation, oil changes + other maintenance + repairs +insurance fuel becomes insignificant.

Makes a good case for taking mass transit if personal travel fuel cost is getting you down.

  4. i drive a small car that averages 35 mpg. so it doesnt bother me all that much.

though i cant help but laugh at the idiots out there who act all 'high and mighty' in their gas guzzling suv's and then ***** about gas prices.

  5. Im happy that gas keeps going up,

I bike to work, or walk, or jog, depending on my mood. I have been doing this since before the gas inflations, and I keep in shape, feel good, and am more relaxed than my coworkers.

I have noticed that as gas goes up, more of my coworkers are biking...makes me happy. and them healthy.

  6. It definitely makes me think twice on how to route my travels.

No longer are the days of just tossing the kids in the car & going for a drive.

For our summer vacation we actually have to budget for gas as part of our expense...just as we would for lodging.

    Kind of sux doesn't it.

  7. It has affected me a lot because I live in a small town and have to travel 70 miles a day just to get to work. I don't make as many trips to down like I used to and I try to eat at home more instead of eating out. It stinks!!!

  8. complain alot, but continue buying it-do without in other things-do not smoke or drink achohol. we are still taking our road-trip from nc to ca in May. Drive a car that gets good gas mileage.
