My daughter is called Darcy but I am considering changing it because people seem to dislike it. Because they don't like it I am not sure whether I like it anymore. She is only a few weeks old. Should I change her name?

  1. Her name is gorgeous.  Dont change it.

  2. Keep it - it's nice, slightly unusual and it was your choice when she was born. She'll love it.

  3. Kate Garraway from GMTV has had a baby & called her Darcy...i think it's a lovely name...i think people are being really blinking cheeky telling you they dislike it - tell them to get lost & mind their own business honey!! - lol!!

  4. It's a very American name. I really don't have an opinion on it, so I neither like it nor dislike it. But, it shoudn't matter what other people think, only what you and your partner think should count. If you do want to change it, then you should do it soon otherwise your daughter will get used to being called Darcy.

Maybe you could try Lily, or Sienna. I think they go quite well with the rest of the name.

  5. Just because other people dont like it doesnt mean you should change it. I think its a lovely name and I know someone whose little girl is Darcy. If she doesnt like it when she is older she can always go with one of her middle names.

  6. It doesnt look like so bad with english accent. :)

  7. I think that the name Darcy is really cute! Don't worry about what other's think. you liked it at one time, don't let others change your mind about it. i honestly like it. & i also know 2 Darcys. They are both really nice, and like their names.

  8. No way do not change it, its cute I really like it and I wouldn't give a **** what other people thought of it, she's your child not theirs!!

  9. I like it a lot, and I don't think you should change it.

The person who said it was chavvy doesn't know what they are talking about.  Chavvy names are those that are made up.  Trust me, working in a school you soon get to recognise chavvy names.  You usually know - even without meeting the kid.

  10. Change it while shes young.  Poor kid, thats an ugly name!!!!!!

  11. No dont change it , its gorgeous

All of her names are really pretty

    xx

  12. darcy is one of my favorite names!!! far better than the oh so phony neveah, jayden, mykayla, meckenzie and other hideous names people are calling their poor kids!!!

i really do not care for two middle names but that's just my opinion.

darcy kaye i think is adorable.

keep her name if you liked this enough and its not a strange made up name there is no reason to change it! good luck!

  13. Hi,

    Congratulations!!!

I like the name Darcy it is cute - although I prefer spelling of Darcie.

I think it goes with middle names and it cute!

It a pretty name and will grow with her.

Who cares what others think hun? This baby is YOUR baby and YOU named her.

Be pleased you picked a pretty name - please don't be a people-pleaser!

Stuff them! This is your baby and she sounds adorable with a pretty name too!

  14. I dont like it, sorry ):

  15. I actually like it, and you shouldn't change her name just because some other people may not like it.

  16. I don't like it much, so yeah if I were you I'd change it.

  17. Is Darcy her real name or just a nick name?

If it's a nick name you can change it.

  18. I really like it. It's cute. Let her decide when she gets older if she wants it or not...she's got 2 good middle names to choose from if she'd rather have something different.

  19. I love the name Darcy!

    along with Stella, Daisy, Melrose.

  20. Sorry a bit Chav,

  21. It's posh like the ballet dancer

  22. Love it! Never mind other people.

I chose Isla for my youngest and no one liked it to begin with

Now (she is 10 months) everyone say's they love it

  23. i like it

i dont think you can change it...

  24. I love the name! Do not change it! I beg of you!

It's so posh and cute and middle class! I adore the name, reminds me of the elegant ballet dancer.

Do not change it for other people. They should mind their own business if they don't like it! You wouldn't go around slagging off other peoples baby names? It's a lovely name and i'm sure your beautiful baby girl Darcy will thank you for giving her such an elegant and girly name when shes older. Anyway, it's your choice, don't change it for others. I love the name it's so chic! x Very english rose too.

    Hope i've helped!

    xxxxxxxxxxxxx

By the way i love her whole name! I think it's beautiful.

    x

  25. i certainly wouldn't change it to suit anyone but yourself and your baby.  its not my choice of name, but its not my baby.  you carry on with how you feel and don't bow down to pressure.

  26. Darcy is okay

  27. OK I don't particularly like it.

You could always change it to Dianne, Darla or Dianna.

Also unless it's to honour a family member why not just give her one middle name?

  28. Please don't change her name! Darcy is such a beautiful name. Its very pretty and I love it! The whole name you have given her is beautiful.

Remember Darcy was the name you gave her because YOU liked it. Don't listen to other people, listen to your heart. I think you gave her the right name.

    Hope that helps, xx

  29. I like the name, but I would consider the obvious nickname(s) she'll get when older at school. Kids being kids and all that, and she may not thank you for it.

  30. no...changing a name is like changing an identity...when she was born you obviously felt she was a darcy...you have to keep her name but if you dont like it call her Autumn or something...but i think it's a nice name

  31. Parents are the ones who get to choose a child's name -- not others.

Even if I didn't like the name someone gave their child I'd never tell them that.  How rude!  You wouldn't expect someone to change their child's name because you didn't like it, would you?  I have 2 daughters and their names are Darcy & Amy and I love the names as well as the girls. Your daughter has a beautiful name -- let her keep it.
