A pregnant friend of mine is considering the name Aaishleigh for a girl. What do you think of it? I just want some other opinions before I give her any advice.

  1. to be honest ,   i dont think much of it at all mate.

  2. Aisha - Aayshah - Aiesha - Aishia - Ayisha - Ieesha - Aesha - Aeisha - Ayesha - Aysha - Ayshe - Iesha - Ieasha - Ieashia - Ieeshia - Yiesha

    Leigh - Lee - Llee - Lea - Lei - Li - Le - Liegh

  3. well its just too much, you don't need to spell a name crazy to be more individualistic. and imagine what it would be like your whole life when nobody knows how to spell your name, that would suck. and as said before kindergarten...

  4. It sounds as if you are trying to say Ashley, but you are failing. or like you have a drawl. I don't like it. Sorry..

  5. Another ridiculous made-up name that a parent thinks is cool...hopefully she changes her mind before the baby is born.

You don't know how old your friend is?  You're obviously not close friends then, are you?

  6. i dont like it, too long too much

  7. Well "Aishley" is an awesome name but tell her that the spelling is a little over. Just spell it how it sounds. Like how you described it

  8. What's with the crazy spelling.  Her poor daughter will have the hardest time in Kindergarten.

    What about...

    Ashlee

    Ashleigh

    Ashley

Good luck, and try to convince her not to spell her baby's name like that

  9. Too much! That child would have a hard time in kindergarten.

  10. Looks and sounds like something out of a nightmare.  Any name that starts with a double letter spells trouble and that's just the beginning. Is your friend by any chance 14 years old?  This is the sort of name that appeals to very young mothers who later live to see the error of their ways.

  11. OMG, why complicate such a pretty name as Ashley? Can you imagine this poor child just trying to figure out how to write her own name? No one will be able to pronounce it. Tell your friend to get off her high horse and think of her child dealing with such a name before putting the final stamp on it.

  12. I think that everybody else just about covered it!

  13. ick that name is horrible.

the kids whole life will be spent spelling and pronouncing it.

  14. ugg - where to begin

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

Thanks for the clarifications - I would NEVER have known how to pronounce it otherwise! The way it is spelled, doesn't even LOOK like how she wants it pronounced - it will always be wrong or questioned.

If she likes the sound of Eye-Ish-A-Lee, then I would recommend naming her daughter Aisha Leigh and using the combined sounds as a NN - That way the daughter has something that will work when she is a grown woman!

    HTH :-)

  15. Wow.

  16. too complicated. the scul teacher might not know how to pronounce it correctly.

  17. I dont like it. Very hard to look and figure out to say. If the english language wasnt so back wards and there was an easier way to spell it I would like it!

  18. i'm neutral

  19. I think she'll always be first in the roll call of first names.

Other than that I think the poor child will be crying at 5 years old trying to remember how to spell her name.

It has entirely too many vowels and everyone will attempt to think it is some weird version of Welchian Hawaiian and pronounce it thusly.

  20. What like Aa-sh-lee

    Hehe i like it!

  21. is that supposed to be Ashley? that spelling, with all the extra letters, is just not good.

  22. terrible spelling.

  23. no....thats way too much!
