What do you think of the name Aden(or spelled Adyn) for a girl??

Question

My maternal grandfather that was killed by a drunk driver 3 weeks before i was born was named Aden. I really love the name,for a boy or a girl. I think it's kind of elegant and different for a girl's name. What do you think?? Be honest!! :)

AAh, what is with this name?? We have Cayden, Aiden, and Hayden in my circle of friends. Also, just today I heard people picking on a boy named Cleo calling it a girls name, not fair to the child to use gender confused names. Try meditation and dreaming to see what your child would like to be called. Good luck!

I think its a very pretty name, and you could spell it any way you wish to,its pretty both ways! Aden,or Aydn, and its great you want to name your daughter after your grandfather!

Aiden and all the ways you spell it is very popular for a boy. If it is a girl there will be BOYS in her class with that name and that would be embarrassing. Make it a middle name.

This is not a girls name, and she would probably grow to hate it if you named her this!

However, if you want to honor your granddad, you can use this as a middle name (my best friends - girl - middle name was Michael after her dad and I always thought that it was neat!)

My suggestion - find a very feminine name (Elizabeth Aden maybe?), and use Aden - the same spelling as your granddad - as a middle name... you can even use it as a second middle name...

Like Aiden? If that's how it is pronounced, don't do it. There are already too many Aiden, Jaden, Kaden, and Hayden's!
