What do you think of the name Drake?

Question

My fiance and I are trying to decide on our son's name. I still have a ways to go, but once I realized I'm not hardly happy with any name, I'm stressing out. The names I like, my fiance doesn't like, and the names he likes, I don't like. He mentioned this name. It sounds very different, and I haven't heard it before I don't think.

Which way would you spell it?

What do you think of it?

I'd spell it Drake- the way it is.

hopefully by the time you two start a family, you'll come across some names you both love

EDIT: never mind you already have a child... well get out some baby name books and look through them together. Think of male relatives and friends and see if you want to name your son after them

If you use Drake, just spell it Drake. Don't use any weird spellings like Drayke, or Draek because those will look stupid like you don't know how to spell.

Well, when I heard the name Drake, I automatically thought of the Drake Bell from  the hit show "Drake and Josh". I wouldn't use it, though it is a nice name.

I like Drake. It's a fine name, but you know what it means right? It's a male duck. That's always what I think of when I hear the name.

I know a couple who just had a Drake. I don't think it's too common, just not so rare it's freaky. Good name.

Spell it the normal way - Drake.

I'm not too keen on it - I think it's ok but it's a very American name.  Reminds me of that kids TV programme Drake and Josh.

I would spell it as you did, Drake.

I think it sounds really masculine.  Definitely sounds modern, but I don't think it's too trendy

I think about using it sometimes, though I always think of it as a middle name.  Here's what I've been considering, just to give you some ideas:

Connor Drake

David Drake

Henry Drake (or Drake Henry!)

James Drake

I don't like it. Makes me think of Drake & Josh. Maybe you should try to compromise, one of you picks the first name and the other the middle. Do you both love Drake or just him?

I'm sorry but it reminds me of the show my son watches, Josh & Drake.  I love Kaylee though!  Maybe you could think of a cute name that would go with your daughter's name a little better.
