  5. Fine. Sir Edmund Hillary climbed Mount Everest. 1953 with Sherpa Tensing.

  6. I got a mate called Edmund, we call him Ned for short. Register him as Edmund but then you can call him Ned. It's not that popular like Jack or Anthony or Matthew or anything. :)

  7. Not Much, Sorry.

  8. Not too keen, its not very popular these days. If you like it then you keep that name...If its not a very comon name your looking for thats the one to choose! Good Luck!

  9. It is a good name.

  10. It sounds like "life is a box of chocolates"...way back in the day!

  11. Blackadder springs to mind straight away - sorry, not a good name to call a child

  12. I do not like it at all, I dislike any name that has Ed at the beginning of the name. It is quite old-fashioned, but not in a good way like Iris or Thomas.

  13. The Chronicles of Narnia here I come!

No, on a serious note, I don't like it but I don't hate it either. I wouldn't use it, but there is something about it that makes it stand out - unlike the name Edward which is quite common - and with the right middle name it will sound just right.

He can be known as Ed or Eddie.

Edmund means Rich Protector and is an English name.

    Hope this helps

    Vxxx

  14. Ask lord percy and Baldrick.

  15. black adder or chronicles of narnia?

really it's a bit dated, will he thank you for a name like that

    when he's older?

  16. From the chronicles of Narnia.  Very old fashioned.  Don't like it.

  17. I think it's a good solid name.  So far back in time that it's coming back in - also has the same diminutives as Edward - Ed, Eddy, Teddy.

Only downside (wouldn't worry about BlackAdder too much) is Edmund in Chronicles of Narnia sided with the White Witch though think he redeemed himself later.

  18. I really like it.

  19. Depends on the surname which has to be taken into consideration when naming a child, even though some so called celebrities call their poor children ridiculous names.

  20. Nice strong name. Gives the impression of knowledge and good "breeding"

  21. It's kind of dated...but you could always nickname him Eddie.

  22. Sorry, Edward is better.

  23. I dont like it, sorry. Its to old.

  24. It's great. Has a bit of history and tradition and he can always shorten it to Eddy, which is very trendy.

    Edmund can refer to:

    Edmund I of England

    Edmund II of England

    St. Edmund of East Anglia

    St. Edmund of Abingdon

    Edmund I of Scotland

Edmund Hillary, 1st conquerer of mount Everest

  25. I don`t like it myself.  It sounds dated and a bit `stiff`  - like a professor. But we all see names differently - so don`t take any notice of me!

  26. edmund blackadder....hmmm dont do it!

  27. sounds like a snob name or some old man. what about Enmin like from the movie cold mountain. a little different, a twist on

Edmund, and brings it up to date

  28. ooooh......reminds me of blackadder!

  29. I love it!!!

  30. No I don't like it - very dated! The only person I have known with that name is the boy from Narnia

  31. If its a family name I say go for it! If its a name of choice...I would not choose that sorry.
